Our bottle share wasn't whale-tastic. Had a couple of nice bottles pop up like some Pliny and Kuhnhenn Eisbock. It was fun meeting new people and chatting it up in line. But I would say the better fun came once we were inside the party and met back up with some of those folks and shared more stories and talked about the beer and exotic food. Being just a tad warmer didn't hurt either lol.

I'm pretty sure it was the same guy I saw at the indy bcbs release throwing a similar fit after he fell asleep in his car.

I've gone a few years now, and I think I personally enjoy the party more. I didn't get to enjoy the party this year due to poor planning and exhaustion from the overnight bottle share. I think I can say that this is my last year of the overnight stuff, I'm just going to show up at 11 for the party next year and hope there's bottles left.

It's all personal preference though really. The bottle share is really fun, until it's time to line up. I felt like people were all really cool during the whole thing, and then a lot of people got very aggressive and agitated around 5:30, that wasn't very fun to me.

Boy, oh boy, do I wish I could answer this question. The bottle share killed me and my two buddies. I was so dissapointed in myself for ditching the party but I honestly can't remember ever being that hungover. Next year, I'd like to try for both but I just really don't see a good method aside from going INSANELY early with a 1 man tent and sleeping bag, bottle share until 3AM, sleep until order forms, eat breakfast, dick around, early bottle pickup, bring back to hotel and sleep longer, go back to party around 4 or 5PM, die Sunday. 4 Elf is not for the faint of heart (liver).

@FrankHammer, I am sure I met you at some point in the night since I was also at the tent that grew double in size. We actually went there first since we knew some of the guys there, we were then accosted (ok, I'm exaggerating a little), by the two guys behind. I even had a taste of the CBS, much appreciated, but clearly not a valid remedy to you cutting ahead of me.
Your options were the same as mine, so me and my buddy went to the back of the line, we got there at 8pm, and got slips in the 250's. We set up shop with some people around us, right next to your tent actually, but on the other side of the snake line. These were people I had never met before, but we shared stuff and had a good time. It really is that easy. Or just show up when your friends do. I find it humorous that you felt that cutting was your only realistic option
We laughed at you guys all night, even termed the phase New Money, to describe your ways. Whatever, you got your DB, and good for you, I'm sure it is no skin off your back, and you'll do it again 50x over. I missed out, and I am pretty sure it all had to do with people jumping the line to share their whalez with their bros. I felt confident when I got there; there were not 250 people in front of me. Whatever, I had two pours of the DB at the party, had a good time, and met some cool people, and I even talked to people I knew in your group.

tough to say. id probably say the bottle share at least once just because its a little more of a unique experience. ive been to a lot of parties with good music, good food, good beer, good people, but the bottle share is different. i wouldnt do it every year but like i said, at least once is worth it. met a lot of cool people and tried some great stuff. i prefer smaller bottle shares where you arent essentially just tasting beer but its cool to have tried all these in one night...

So we got there about 70th in line at about 545pm friday. Got to try around 50-60 amazing beers before finally getting my form. Loved how everyone shared anything and everything and most people were super friendly. although then there were some i dont truly understand why they came.

when time came, i Was physically able to fill out my form although writing was difficult. I realized my form was #153 but after all the amazing beers I could care less how many people cut me in line. I was more shocked no one wanted to buy my foldable chair for $1 or even then when i dropped the price to a sip of beer. :slight_frown:

i somehow made it to the porta potty that was overflowing just in time as the poop started spraying out my bunghole. I believe i donated a pair of boxers and my phone case cover to the potty somehow... Retrieval was not an option.

stumbled to my car to find my buddy passed out... woke him up and off for breakfast pizza it was. When the server elf lady asked what I wanted... I asked for chocolate milk but she replied smiling "this is a brewery" so got an ipa and i tried my best to eat but the stomache would only accept beer.

The bathroom had an awesome sign saying so not use the bidet unless your butt was completely on the seat or water WILL spray everywhere and EVERYONE WILL BE UPSEt! For some reason this was the funniest thing after all night of drinking.

Slowly sipped more ipa outside sobering up in the fresh weather waiting for party to start... Watching people slowly make their way back from their short naps wherever they stayed. Weather was awesome for it being December.

Once the party started, beers were amazing... Food was amazing (if you were able to get some) and getting your allotment wasn't that bad. Although I noticed people were getting in line for their beers way outta turn. Could care less with how amazing it all went down either way.

Made it home safely and already looking forward to next year.... Thanks to everyone who was one of the fun, caring non douche bags this year! People like you are what help make beer events amazing and a wonderful experience to me.

Also Thank you to Dark Horse for having us and putting up with so many idiots! Till next year

I've been meaning to ask: who was the dickhead with the airhorn? Every time I started to fall asleep in my tent, a freaking airhorn went off and woke us all up.

Think it was meant for the people who decided that getting there at 1pm Friday afternoon was a good idea. They really thought they would get there SUPER early, wait in line and then half way through the night decide to KO while everyone else muscled it out? HA!
