Got my package of west coast goodies that I sent myself today, so had a Noble Big Whig.

Followed it up with the beer that is spoiling me: Carton 0dub.

Packed a box for @Ncpogs. It'll drop at Fed Ex in the AM. It's not tons of oz, but hopefully it won't disappoint.

@mklisz with the super Alchemist hookup. This is an outstanding RIS. Thanks again dude!

Figured I should jump on the train. Got it in a trade as an extra a while back. No barrel, from 2012 (and didn't age all that well...barnyard malt?). I'm picking good drinking lately...

That's a shame. I've had 2010s and 2011s in the past 6 months and have been really pleased by how it aged. I've actually never had the '12 though... maybe it was off?

Hint #1: This is not a person who is also actively involved in the SWTFYW thread.
Hint #2: My target's preferences are such that the local releases I've been most excited about recently (and had earmarked as good bottles for this box) would not be as exciting for him, so I'm still trying to figure out what goes into the box.

Possibly. And who knows how it was stored by the person I traded with... It certainly wasn't awful (like the Tall Tale last night) by any means, but there was definitely a distinct musty barnyard hay (malt) flavor in the back of my mouth on the finish of every sip--cooler or warmer. It was the regular Pt5 (not barrel aged), and I've never had one fresh, so I can't say that I'm the best judge in this case... Just wasn't all I was hoping for on the back of the current Pt5 love...

So, I might as well do this... mmmmmmm.....

I'll take all those local releases, love getting new beer. Besides, isn't that kind of the point?

I'm so behind on this thread! Most of the beers for my target have been picked up though!

I'm guilty of this myself. I've been spreading out clues because I'm not sure when I will ship. The holidays and everything that surrounds them makes my schedule a little busy right now. Once I'm done shopping for my target and have a better idea of when I will ship my clues will increase.

Hint #2 - You participated in the first round of this BIF.

P.S. To my sender: My birthday is January 8th. Would be fun to get a box on that day!

The official ship date starts Dec 29th? My target did agree with shipping early or missed my post, so Ill wait 2 more weeks instead of shipping before Christmas.

Hint 1: My target and I have, at least, participated in one round of the Locals.
Hint 2: I will ship north.

This LIF box from @Clarkson is obscene. So. Many. Wants.

I'll do a formal post tonight.

I think if people are going to ship early this round, they need to make sure their target is going to be around.

To my sender- hopefully conveyed to you but don't send to me early, please. I'm going to be out of town and it will sit on my stoop and freeze if you send it early.

Box to my target going to go out in early January, weather permitting.

Yep, that's what I'm doing -- plus I realized my first clue narrowed things down to about 14 candidates, which was further along than most people.

LIF pRon from Packers-Vikings point spread prediction a few weeks ago.

So yesterday my "winnings" from @henshawb 's LIF arrived -- all of these are new and mysterious to me

Central Waters Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Stout -- I've tried a couple of CW beers, this one sounds yummy
O'so Lupulin Maximux -- that little yellow square on the label says "WARNING: bottle may contain hop cone." !!??!! :grimacing:
Black Husky Sproose II IPA -- I think this is very new - my only prior experience with a spruce beer was not so good, but this sounds interesting. I'll make sure I have somebody to share it with just in case!
O'so Convenient Distraction -- "Imperial Porter masterfully blended with Aquacate coffee from the Narino region of Columbia and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans." -- I'm really excited about trying this one
Black Husky Big Buck Brown Ale -- I'm just starting to get interested in this style; this looks good
New Glarus Moon Man -- this one was on my wants from a prior BIF round, and I'm looking forward to it
Central Waters Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale -- another CW beer I am psyched to try

Thanks so much @henshawb for the Wisconsin deliciousness!

I've been quite impressed with O'so from my limited exposure to them. they have a pretty nice sour program going. Gotta make the 3 hour journey to the brewery sometime, it's on my brewery bucket list. (and central waters too, which is 20 minutes away).

Sweet haul over all, that Black Husky is coveted stuff too.
