2014 CBS in NYC?

I'm going to try to get there, myself. From those of you who have waited for this in the past, any advice as to what time to show up, etc.?

The event starts at 6 but when does CBS tap?

 

I can actually make it to this event this Wednesday. I'm definitely going to do my best to get there, and probably by 4-4:30 to get a seat at the bar. For those of you who have been to this bar for events before, will getting there by 430 afford me the opportunity to get a seat at the bar or should I come even earlier? (I'd rather not. I have work to take care of in the afternoon and have to take an hour train).

 

Ugh, out of all the bars why this one? I can't stand the bartenders there. Always get orders wrong and never friendly. And every time I've gone, it wasn't busy.

 

Others probably received kegs these guys were just the first to make it known.

 

there are a couple of kegs in the region. went to the best accounts. We are a very good founders account (cafe nadery) and we didn't get one.

I'm guessing Rattle N Hum and Blind Tiger both get kegs.

 

Better bring your earplugs for the great, loud music.

 

Yep, I'm gonna get my CBS in a to-go cup and drink it at Beer Culture.

They don't mention CBS specifically, but they say there is a special surprise beer.

Interestingly, I was looking at beer authorities website about 5 minutes ago and this event was posted (with a mess of typos; ie Devil's Cancer) and now it is gone.

 

Worst bar ever. I don't want to drink CBS badly enough to go there.

I could see it being KBS and not CBS. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. I was there once and asked for some porter, I don't remember, and the bartender handed me a black ipa. Didn't even have to taste it to tell it was wrong. So I waited until I got his attention and told him it wasn't the beer I ordered. Dude just takes it and doesn't come back. Get his attention again and ask what happened to the beer I ordered, and he said "oh we're out of that". Never even asked me if I wanted another beer. I then ordered another beer with another bartender.

 

If you can get past the horrible location, horrible patrons, horrible bouncers, horrible bartenders, and horrible vibe/music, you'll have an amazing time.

It is also a more expensive (and much bigger) sister bar of RnH.

 

But it also shows a picture of KBS and no CBS. Could go either way I guess
