Like most BAs I like my glassware and use it whenever I can. However, I recently found that I prefer Sierra Nevada Celebration straight from the bottle. I've tried it multiple times in a tulip and pint glass and straight from the bottle and it's better out of the bottle every time. The aroma is obviously not as present (if at all) but the taste is better - more of the fresh hop and better carbonation.

Anybody else experience this with Celebration or any other beer?

But do you pick up this year's spice straight from the bottle?

Some people like red wine cold... Drink it how you like it and enjoy it most..

If it says to enjoy Heady from the can and its the best beer in the world, then you should be able to enjoy any beer from a bottle or can.

I know what you mean though, there have been times that I have drank from a bottle and felt bad about not pouring it, but I still enjoyed it just as much as I would of in a glass.

While you should drink what you enjoy the way you enjoy it, a preference for not being able to pick up the aromas means there's actually something you don't much like about that beer. A large part of the flavors we experience comes from the aromas. Perhaps your nose is telling you its time to look for some other Christmas beer where you'll enjoy the aromas more?

Pretty much where I was going with this. While no one should feel "judged" by whether or not they decant, it does create a problem with fully experiencing the beer (less much aroma) by drinking straight from. That being said, certainly I've had my share of All Days and SNPA on a golf course without decanting, but those were beers I'd had in glass prior; therefore I knew the product well enough to know I was missing out on the added joy of aroma. Had I not liked them as much when taking a nose full, I probably would have sought out a different beer. The experience of not enjoying the smell of a beer leaves enough impression on me and enough memory that I can't fully enjoy it ever again without thinking about that smell.

I usually pour bottled beer into a glass, but I've found myself slurping canned craft beer without the use of any vessel

BOTTLE !!! Very rarely do I even conceive of pouring beer into a glass.
I own about 6-8 pint glasses that rarely get used.

If I'm trying a beer for the first time I'll always pour it unless I'm in a situation where I can't. Aromatics aside, I always like to see how the beer pours and settles and develops/loses its head etc.

That said, there are many beers that I've actually grown to enjoy more from the can or bottle - typically hoppy stuff - since I feel that the flavors and what slight aromatics there are get concentrated a bit more and don't have as much opportunity to oxidize, plus the carbonation has more staying power.

In the end maybe I don't enjoy them "more" from the bottle, maybe it's just that I enjoy them "differently."

But how do you pretentiously swirl the beer around and stick your nose in it when it is in the bottle? BTW I do this and feel pretentious when I do.

I use glassware(thanks to @SadMachine, Kane teku glass is my go to), but drink it however you want, especially if it tastes better in the bottle!

One 4th of July, I drank a 6 pack of my bottled homebrew. July 5 was NOT fun. Spent a lot of it in the smallest room in our house.

I now drink no beer straight from the bottle . . .

One of the best things about life is that you can do whatever you want. If drinking beer from the bottle makes you happy, have at it. Personally, I usually drink from a glass and feel I can get a little more out of the beer when I do. But I don't turn my nose up at anyone who does otherwise and occasionally drink from the bottle out of convenience or laziness.

Serious question and not trying to be snarky, but how would drinking from a glass have changed anything?

The short answer is to drink it anyway you like it. Something to consider is that beer contains between 1.5 (British ales) to as much as 5.1 (German weizens) volumes of CO2. When you pour it into a glass some of that CO2 gets released, bringing volatile compounds to your nose which enhances the flavor and aroma of the beer. When you drink it out of the bottle all of that CO2 ends up in your stomach, causing bloating, gas and belching.

recently for me, I've been trying to only use glassware for new beers and bombers (frankly I'm tired of washing glasses) but once you have reviewed it and you know it's a freshie...... I am absolutely fine drinking from the bottle can! Certain beers tho, like ten Fidy I can't drink from the can, it stinks like pennies in the can!

Homebrew has a ton of yeast that settles out. Some people's systems are sensitive to that. No harm ....just unpleasant.
