Saw that my local shop had a couple of 12oz bottles of Raison d'extra. is it always $9.99 for a 12oz bottle?
Considering the brewery was selling it for $36 a 4-pack, I'd say $9.99 is a good price, I believe I paid $10.99 for one
I was shocked to see my local Non-Total Wine bottle shop selling singles for $9 a bottle. Made my decision a little easier.
That's a decent price. If you're lucky you can get it for $8.99 but we're talking about a dollar here. Who cares. Having one now as I type this. It's worth it. Good stuff.
My favorite local bottle shop sold them for 10$ a bottle with a 2 bottle limit. A bar down the street was charging 15$ a bottle. I would pay both prices.
I have a bottle of 2007 & 2014. I'm tempted to do a side-by-side, but I've been reading it's a better beer with age on it. What does BA think? Should I just drink my '07 and keep the new guy in the cellar for a while or taste them side-by-side? It's a pricey beer. I'm just not sure I can justify spending that much on another bottle.
I'd like to hear about that. Haven't had one in a couple years. Wish I had saved one for a side by side.
I just had d'extra for the first time on draft from the local Dogfish Head Alehouse. At first I found it unbalanced, too sweet, but as I ate it complemented the food very well. Based on that I picked up a bottle to cellar.....hope to see how it does in a couple of years
Well yes, some of it is production cost, as there are higher costs for materials and more risk in the brewing process. But supply is lower as 120 Minute and WWS are produced in lower numbers than their year-round and seasonal beers.
Sounds about right for the style, ABV, and that it hasn't been brewed since 2007. Seems to match price point of 120 Minute and their World Wide Stout, as well. I hope to pick up two after first of the year if they are are still around.
Go with your gut. If I were you, I'd be too tempted to not do a side by side now with a 7 year bottle and a fresh one.
Just saw this today at my local bottle shop in a generic white box 4-pack for $45. I think I'l pass. Picked up a 4-pack of Burton Baton instead, for $15.99.
