This might come together nicely. Mom lives near ne 56st and Dixie, almost walking distance. Keep me informed.

I have Lady of the Woods, though there's at least 3-4 different ones sitting around on shelves in Minneapolis, though I hadn't seen the peach one before. I was hesitant as I'd never heard of the beer or the brewery but ultimately the high rating on BA and my love of sours won me over and I picked up a bottle.

Got it. I think the peach one is a lot harder to find; I've got Monomoy Kriek (2) and a Lady of the Woods, with another couple bottles on hold at my bottle shop "for a rainy day" (the owner assures me that having bottles on hold is no problem even if it'll be a while, and I'm sure I'll buy them eventually if nothing else but for a BIF box)

Continuing the VBS, one of the extras from my international trade. Hey BJCP, is it still an "American Black Ale" if it's from England? #blackipaforever

Just stop. Stop with the ridiculousness! Some day man, some day!

Plenty of places in the US make English IPA, so I see no reason why England can't make American Black Ale

Enjoyed my visit to Tampa St Pete breweries a couple months ago. Visiting some breweries on the other side of the state sounds good. Keep me informed, would like to make it if schedules work out.

Ok got to get the last three. I see someone has 4 right and 5. Nobody close to 6 yet. Ok. 4 is more than I have kids, and for 5 all the same species. Guess away!

You're not wrong, but I don't understand why we can have "Red IPA" and "White IPA" but "Black IPA" is so fucking hard to accept.

Do we need to keep writing the first 3 now that they're known quantities? Just in case...

I feel like this has been discussed before, but what's the verdict on including a beer or two from a brewery that is technically local, but does see distro in the target's state, but that they haven't ticked (at least on here) and you find to be a good brew (and the rating on here agrees with that with it being over 90)?

Also that said, I might end up breaking a rule with this box... will definitely be "six" different beers, but there may be multiples (2-3) of a couple.....

That said, depending on the feedback on my question, I think I have this box planned out. Average rating of 92, lowest being 87, highest being 100. 4 different breweries represented, 1 seeing national distro but I'm not budging on that bottle and I'm sure nobody would object to receiving it anyway. I just have to shop for the last few bottles, as a few of them I already have on hand.

I think you're doing just fine Cody. The "theme" is locals, but I have yet to hear someone complain about receiving a good beer regardless of where it came from.

If a black ale can be pale, an English ale can be American.

If you want to send me something that is local, but not local, that you say is worth having, that I haven't ticked, that has great ratings...why would I complain. I'll take it. But, I'm just the newbie in this thread...

So not sure if you picked it up but you were my 6er target as well just so happened you won the LIF after targets were out so I consolidated into one box. That being said since you were hoping for Jackie's and your friends drank them I will round up a good variety of Jackie O's and get you another box out for your enjoyment only. Cheers!
