I am not a fan of this style. La Fin Du Monde is one I can tolerate, but much prefer their SBPA, Don De Dieu. I've tried several other triples but never really appreciated their offerings. Yesterday I picked up a sixer of River Horse' Triple Horse. Clocked in at 10% ABV, but I must admit it was really good. I have never seen such a high abv beer in a six pack, but the price tag was only $12.00. Very nice beer, at a very decent price. Anyone else have a favorite American made Triple??

Long Strange Tripel from Boulevard and Fluffy White Rabbits from Pretty Things are both tasty American-made tripels

My personal favorite Tripel beers are Belgian Brewed; Trappist/Abbey breweries.

I am fortunate that a number of local brewpubs will brew high quality Belgian Ales including Tripels. One of my favorites was Schelde Tripel brewed by Iron Hill Brewpub (Phoenixville).

In terms of North American packaged Tripels, two of my favorites are La Fin du Monde and Allagash.

@Beertsipper, thanks for the tip about the River Horse Tripel; I will have to give that beer a try.

    Cheers!

Logsdon Strafee Drieling is a really good American-made Tripel. Allagash Tripel is probably my favorite though.

I've tried Allagash. Twice. Both times I got the same weird taste that I can't quite describe. Very off putting. Barrel aged was worse. Brett?? Or perhaps infected bottles??

Ommegang Tripel Perfection, which I noticed has been brewed again after an overlong hiatus.

Long Strange Triple from Boulevard is the best US made triple I have tried. La Fin Du Monde is the best non Belgian made triple I have had.

Golden Monkey was actually my least favorite American Triple. The alcohol was just too over the top.

Gotta echo others and say the US-based Belgian masters Boulevard and Allagash with Long Strange Tripel and Tripel/Curieux, respectively. La Fin du Monde is probably the best on the continent though.

I think the Bruery's Trade Winds Tripel is worth a mention for being both good and interesting, plus it's affordable for a Bruery beer.

I'm not sure it counts since it's technically brewed by Baladin in Italy but blended and aged by an American brewery. OEC Brewing Zymatore Super Baladin is a bourbon barrel tripel that was better than Curieux in my mind.

Lastly, many of the cleaner American saisons tend to be not too stylistically accurate and blur the line between tripel and saison.

I'm not a big enough fan of the style to pay for top-tier stuff so in the rare instance when I seek one out I usually just grab some New Belgium Trippel and call it good. Unfortunately, I just saw that they're changing it up. They're boosting the ABV from 7.8% to 8.5% and where the label used to say "ale brewed with coriander" it now says "Belgian style tripel."

I agree with Allagash, both regular and barrel aged; outstanding. I'll throw Brewer's Art out there as well, Green Peppercorn Tripel is an amazing beer. I have to disagree with the OP though, River Horse's Tripel was probably the worst I've had.
