Coolship Party and Bottle Release

Anybody willing to help out? (At least with trustee efforts?)

 

Hey guys, looking for a trustee as well. Would send out a shipper with some California goodies in it. If you can get your hands on some CW 16 or 17, I'm sure we can work out a trade for that on the side.

I am gonna be spending way way too much money on beer that weekend...

 

Just got this email:

To those of you who have reserved bottles of The Fox and the Grapes. This beer will not be released at the Coolship Party on Jan 23rd as has not finished conditioning. Sour beers such as this can develop a temporary "sickness" when there is a strong pediococcus strain present. We noticed an increase in pediococcus during the fruiting process (likely from the grape skins themselves!) which has resulted in a prolonged conditioning requirement. The good news is that this is a temporary phase and will likely result in an even better beer. The bad news is I don't feel comfortable releasing this beer until it is 100% ready, so I have to remove it from the party.

I apologize for any inconvenience this creates. If you have reserved bottles of The Fox and the Grapes, you will be able to either 1.) receive a full refund for those bottles, or 2.) swap reserved The Fox and the Grapes bottles for Framrood bottles (allowing you to exceed the bottle limit).

By default we are going to be issuing refunds for The Fox and the Grapes bottles. If we do not hear from you by this Wednesday (1/7) at midnight regarding a swap to Framrood, we will issue the refund. For those receiving a refund, you will be contacted by Brown Paper Ticket in order to accept the new dollar amount charged to your card.

Yeah that's a bummer. I think I'm gonna take my refund. A shame, since I was really looking forward it.

 

Has anyone hit this in the past? Wondering about what they will be pouring that afternoon.

 

It's a good time. Last year they had 35 of their beers on tap and 5 other Wisconsin guest taps.

 

Are any of the bottled beers available on tap?

 

Maybe the ba night train/ba convenient distraction but probably not the ffg beers. That's how the last release was at least. They usually have some good stuff on tap though!

 

Do they have food at the event?

 

Probably not. They didn't at the 7th anniversary party. But O'so is in a strip mall & there are lots of places within walking distance to get food.

 

The had pizza at the 7th anniversary right where you entered the brewery portion. I would guess something similar will be available for the coolship party, but nothing official.

 

Fair warning, the pizza was pretty overpriced for what it was. That said, I went back for more because I needed to eat something and it was convenient.

 

If anybody is still looking for a trustee for Friday. Let me know.

 

Any chance that people who subbed out their bottles of Fox & Grapes to Framrood can change that to Door Kriek instead?

 

Looks like I'll need to us a friend as trustee. Are there "official" instructions on this process?
