X-Mas Beer Surprises

No beer, but I did get a big box of hard cider (one of the Angry Orchard variety 12-packs) from my sister. I've had one so far and it was pretty good, looking forward to trying the others.

Bunch of grey mondays, chocolate rain, and the wife collabed with ny great friend from iowa to get me the new TG dipas

 

My daughter and son in law surprised me with a black box of Moa Imperial Stout from New Zealand. (Yes, the stuff that was aged in oak barrels that had held Pinot Noir). Not only had I not heard of it, I'd never seen it anywhere locally. It's in the cool room right now.

 

All I got was a case of Breakfast Stout......6x4
My wife who does not know much about beer, was in the liquor store when she saw one case left on the floor. She asked how much it was and the guy said - $42.99. She does know that a four pack costs over 10 bucks, so she bought the case and surprised me at Xmas.

 

My sis and her boyfriend got engaged in Gatlinburg last weekend and brought me some Terrapin, Yazoo, and Sweetwater beers. Nothing rare but lots of solid everyday drinking beers. I was happy!

Looks like some cool stuff!

My fiance gave me a Randall Jr. with a list of recipes, and the beers and ingredients to make them! She also got me a Dogfish Head soup, pickles and soap. It was rad!

 

We got some really neat stuff from friends far & wide. Prairie Christmas Bomb, Knee deep Simtra Triple IPA, Hunahpu's, Rare DOS, DCB DOS, El Bizarron, Jose Marti, Alchemist Luscious, Brother Benjamin, a few odd Side brews...

 

My parents gave me, my older brother, and my even older brother-in-law, Bad Elf (which I hadn't tried), Very Bad Elf, and Seriously Bad Elf respectively.

I was a little doubtful, but actually thought it was a pretty good ale!

 

A Total Wine gift card from my brother in law. Says he walked in and couldn't figure out what I'd like, so I could choose. A Duvel Tulip from my wife who also got confused in the beer aisle, and a french press which will be an awesome way to caffeinate all my favorite stouts.

 

Wife got me Founder's Big Lushious (I like dessert beers) and The Bruery's Sucre - she's the same understanding woman who kept our toddler occupied for close to three hours last year while I stood in line at Hill Farmstead .

 

Did she know what it was? If so, you've got a cool mom!

 

I got nothing beer related. Honestly, I was shocked. Beer was the only thing I asked for, yet nothing even remotely beer related. I am still in shock. Oh well...

@MOVERTON1284 sent an unsolicited box with terrapin moohoochiato, french toast WNB, and a nice tulip glass. I had mentioned wanting to get my hands on both and he sent them along since he had extras. Great guy!

 

Wife bought me a new kegerator with dual taps and and all of the necessary components. My sister who lives in Cincinnati gave me several rare beers from Cincy (Rhinegeist "Truth", Christian Moreleign "Bay of Bengal", and Mad Tree "Thunder Snow".

 

My brother pulled this coup off...
I got one bottle he got the other and the glass...
