Depends a little bit on what bottles your looking for, but they have traded for Hommage, Cantillon, Side Project, JK sours, DB Huna, BA Abraxas, etc... ratios vary, but these are just an example....

As mentioned above I've seen them trade for all kinds of different things. As it stands right now its kind of hard to gauge to actual trade value of the beers. Casey is not a super established name though Troy knows what he is doing. If there is something your looking for post an ISO. I would say some sort of limited brewery only release right now would probably get it done.

    Got it....Thanks for your input.

I had their Saison a few weeks ago at a bottle share and it really impressed me. I loved everything about it. Since then I've been trying to watch threads to see what it's going for and haven't seen much action.

I have traded shelf Cantillon for a bit of it. I really enjoy the stuff. Both times I have had the Saison they were really good.

Did that bottle share happen to be with jbwimer? Just curious based on your location...

You probably won't see much action on the FT side though because most of us who make the long trek up to Glenwood Springs like to drink them :sunglasses: Like mentioned before, Casey as a brewery has only been around since the 4th of July (1st release) and is only open one day per month so not a whole lot of traffic moves through them. Troy Casey's name should speak for itself though, the guy has been doing outstanding things with barrel-aged beer for a while now.

Yes it was with Joe...I'm guessing you're his connection! It was really good. Loved the fluffy mouth feel. I can't stop thinking about it.

My experience is $4$ with limited, brewery only releases. @Kramerbarthomer hit the usual suspects above. I would add Lost Abbey (DDG, Veritas), SARA and Rare Barrel to that list. I usually trade most of my Fruit Stand and keep cases of regular Saison in my cellar. I like the Fruit Stands but the Saison had me at hello. It seems to me that most Casey traders react to ISO rather than post FT.

My favorite Casey quote comes from a well known satirical beer blog.

"It is typical for Colorado to make amazing beers and not tell anyone. They are like the inverted paradigm of the Midwest, no hype, awesome product, not distributed to 14 states: just tasty beers that never seem to make it past the Rockies."

I thought that a lot of Casey's beer made it to the shelves of CO beer stores. Why Such high trade values for these saisons? Is it because saisons are a very popular beer style right now? Low bottle counts? Or possibly the trade forums are even more out of whack then I could have ever imagined? I know that casey's saison is an outstanding saison, so the quality factor is there. Just curious honestly...

Only two shops in Denver have ever gotten Casey bottles to my knowledge and both had 1 per person limits (and no fruit stands). Casey Saison is an outstanding beer produced in very limited quantities and very limited in availability so it has ever factor that any other high trading beer has.

This is not accurate at all... Troy drives down to Denver about once every month or 2 and drops beer at between 2-4 stores in the Denver area, usually about 1-2 cases per store.... and it generally is gone off shelves in hours... so, no there is not much Casey beer to be had on the shelves of Colorado stores.... and the Fruit Stand variants have never been sold in Denver. These bottles trade very well because the product itself is simply very good.

Thanks for the info. I was curious to know. I have not come across much talk of Casey saisons and fruit stands series on the beer advocate threads.

Just as an FYI, I was able to land a Fruit Stand Blackberry for a 4 pack of BBPt5. According to the quality and rarity, I think my sender gave me a very generous offer.

I've traded some Casey for SARA. Always part of bigger trades but building around that. Easy trades to make
