With Pabst owning so many of the "classic" beer brands, I was wondering if they have ever done a variety pack? It might be kind of fun to have a 12-pack that had 2 cans each of:

    - Schlitz Gusto
    - Lone Star
    - Old Style
    - Ballantine IPA
    - Olympia
    - Stroh's

I see these sort of sets being made quite often with classic soda brands, but I didn't know if it had ever been done with beer.

Would be rather hard to assemble, since many of those beers are primarily brewed in different regional MillerCoors breweries - Lone Star in Ft. Worth (so it can still claim "Texas" as it home), Schlitz in Milwaukee or Eden, NC, Old Style probably only in Milwaukee, Stroh and Oly in the closest regional MC breweries to their core markets, etc.

And, of course, Ballantine IPA is one of the several Pabst brands not contract-brewed by MC, but is done at Cold Spring's Third Street brewery. It is also not yet available in cans (tho' they've got a TTB COLA for them).

Not a bad idea! I think it'd be cheap as hell, even if they had to assemble from different locations. Sadly, I don't believe I've tried any of those listed.

I didn't think about the logistics of it, but you're probably right about it being next to impossible with the brands I've listed. Schlitz Gusto, Lone Star, Old Style, and Stroh's are all available in the midwest but with them being brewed in different locations that still could present a problem.

I happen to like variety packs (New Belgium's Folly is one of my favorites) because it gives the opportunity to try things I normally would never buy. I'm sure not going to run out and buy a sixer of Stroh's, but I'd be curious to try it.

Schlitz Gusto and Lone Star aren't bad for what they are. I've never tried the other two.

I would definitely buy that variety pack if it ever happened.

If Old Style, Stroh's and Blatz came in a mixed bag or a variety pack, I would never leave my couch !!!

A 'variety' pack? Won't happen until they actually a beer line with a some degree of variety. Apart from Ballantine IPA of course.

For the sake of my buddy @302BeerGuy , Stag has got to be in that variety pack. Would a regional variety pack be any less difficult?

I have had Olympia and Stroh's, my old man loved them. I thought they tasted like the fluid that accumulates in the bottom of a garbage can and that was back then when I didn't have any idea what good beer tasted like. Dad never had to worry about me sneaking any beer from his fridge!

I love the idea of a low cost variety pack. Ballantine XXX Ale, Colt 45, and Stag should be considered.

Everyone wants this pabst, what are ya doing guys?!

But, for real. This should be done, hell even have PBR in it.But have two of each so six kinds in a 12 pack. I would buy this by the cases. If the cases were like $ 15 or les.

They could do a full 24 bottle/can mixed case.

Of course, since many of the Pabst brands are apparently the same beer with different labels (and others supposedly blends) it could expose the duplicates.

I think it would be funny if AB-InBev released a variety pack with

    BCBCS
    Bud Light
    Spaten Optimator
    Corona
    Juliet
    and O'Douls

How much might one be willing to pay for such a case? Cue Billy Mays.

I worked for Pabst when they were HQ'd in Illinois..I will say Pearl is without a doubt the most disgusting beer I've ever had. Hands down.
