    Sweetwater IPA poured into a Mason Jar over some oranges. I kept looking for the jumping fish but this bottle must not have had one. I will have to open another three or four tonight to see where it is. Good IPA, not too hoppy but good hoppy taste, Hoppy New Year. Mmmmmm, Beer.

    Von Steenberge Gulden Draak Brewmasters Edition aged in whiskey barrels. 10.5% ABV. $20 per bottle! A lovely beer but a little too expensive for what it was.

    2007. Waaaaaay past it's prime. Too bad.

    Hmmm, not past it's prime, but a lot of the nuances fell out, leaving it mostly as a monotone sting with hints of raspberry and sticky-sweet bock malts.

    Survived the freshies! Still quite nice. I won't have to deathbed confess that my mom puts too much garlic in the mashed potatoes.

    At first I thought I might have needed to wash out the glass or my mouth because I kept thinking of how much the freshies reminded me of hop ranch. Light body with particulates and nice slightly sweet finish. They both feature mosaic hops. Don't know if freshies has any azzacca. The bitterness lingers more on freshies and those devil dogs at victory hide 9% abv even better than freshies 7.5. Still nice work by Deschutes. With freshly squeezed makes a 2 for 2 with me.

    Finishing up the KBS vertical tonight with the 2014. Concluded that although it held up well with the 2012 and 2013, fresher is better.

    Got this thing on sale. Would have been better this summmer. No idea how old this thing is since Rouge doesn't date their damn bottles. Not a drainpour, though. Happy New Year!
