Two I could say that are most definitely perfectly crafted:
    Orval
    Weihenstephaner Original (Helles)

The technical purists will tell you that the best-crafted beers will be light malt flavored and light in color because the brewer cannot hide any flaws from the brewing process. It's not surprising to see several mentions in this thread for Pilsner Urquell and others in this category. That being said, I agree with many of the dark beers mentioned here too.

Most notable FBS, never seems to disappoint or get old. Not to me anyway.

Of coarse SN pale is such a classic. Then when you can get Celebration at $26 a case... Kinda poops on the game.

I really wanted to say an American beer as I think we give too much credit to Europe- mostly because they invented the game. With that said, I'm going to say Paulaner Marzen. It's just flawless.

    Urquell is consistent alright...consistently skunked

Despite my disinterest in consuming them..BMC is the only answer to this question. To create such a flavorless, consistent product at the volumes they are is the marvel of the brewing world.

I'll give Sierra Nevada and Rodenbach runner up for many of the same reasons.

I could easily say most trappist beers, however, Evil Twin has knocked it out of the park with the Imperial Doughnut Break as well as Rumpkin from Avery (and by the way, I LOATHE pumpkin beer) for myself and the little lady.

I have found Orval undrinkable since the first time I had it in 1980. Tastes like the emperors new clothes to me. I would have to pick Hacker Pschorr if I had to pick one.

Every time I get dirt wolf I know what I'm getting. It's a great beer and never disappoints to me.

But for being somewhat creative Pipeworks Marilime Law really was great. A DIPA with lime zest and lime juice. That acid just worked so well with the bitterness and fruitiness from the hops and sweetness from the malts. Just remember that one really blowing me away as something different but just delicious.

Considering the entire process from when the beer is made to when it reaches my lips, I'd pick something from Weihenstephan. Specifically their Original since there's truly no bold outstanding flavor in it to mask any flaw.

Why do I mention the entire process? Because somehow the guys at Weihenstephan brew their beers to perfection with consistency AND they survive the trip over here plus time at the bottle shop. Assuming they're not absurdly old (>6 months). And the actual beers don't need mentioning from me, the ratings speak for themselves.

All apologies to anything bourbon barreled, imperial stouts, or heavy hitting IPAs (anything "American" hop forward really) but the dominant flavors can cover up flaws as the quotation above mentions.

The entire St. Bernardus lineup gets a nod from me. Schneider Weisse is a close runner up.
