Wanted something outside my comfort zone for beer #2 tonight and this definitely fits the bill. Plus, I figure it's been sitting long enough!

Tons of dark fruit on the nose, malty & sweet, and surprisingly easy drinking. Never been a big fan of Belgian-style beers but this one is really tasty. Very happy with my choice.

Back at reviewing after the holidays again:

Really nice Altbier. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, brown bread, light chocolate/nuttiness with some herbal hop and plum/apple yeast fruitiness. Light herbal bitterness on the finish provides a nice balance of malt sweetness. Really well balanced and robust flavors; not overdone on yeast notes at all. Nice moderately creamy mouthfeel. This was quite delicious.

This is an awesome IPA! Huge aromatic citrus/pineapple nose is just outstanding. Taste of big grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel/bread and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Nice citrus rind/pine bitter finish. Crisp and sticky mouthfeel, very juicy and bright hop flavors. A modest amount of malt support gives way for big hop presence. This is very impressive. Definitely going to pick this up again when I am back down in OH.

Very nice fruit stout. Aromas and flavors show much of the same characteristics: Lightly tart raspberry, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, toffee, and light coffee; with some light herbal hop presence. Slight fruit tartness and light roast/herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Really nice balance of dark/roast malts with raspberry flavors. Leans more towards a sweet stout, but definitely is a complimenting character to the fruit flavors. Nice smooth mouthfeel, moderate creaminess. Very enjoyable stuff.

This tripel is damn good! Taste of lemon, pear, apricot, orange peel, coriander, peppercorn, coffee, light banana, clove, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice yeast spice and light coffee bitterness on the finish. Spice, yeast, and pale malt/candi sugar flavors are all extremely well balanced. Nice smooth and fairly crisp mouthfeel, not overly heavy. I am a definitely a fan of this. I wasn't sure how green coffee and tripel would work, but ST pulled it off very well. This is very delicious stuff.

Not my favorite but another gift I received. After pizza and the Leon, not too bad.

The first of 2015(technically had an OB Old Chub at past 12am on NYE), both of these very good. I think Sea Monster is going to be something I will be having a lot this year.

Nice little trip down to Lancaster today with my wife and the little one.

First stop was the Spring House Taproom, had a glass of their Double DIPA - Citra Must Be Destroyed.
Then we had lunch at Iron Hill, started with their English style Barleywine - Winston Churchill.
Then had a glass of Abbey Dubbel.
Now at home chillin' on the couch enjoying a Flying Fish Exit 16 Wild Rice DIPA.

Centennial IPA. Quickly becoming one of my new favorites. I'm probably stating the obvious, but it reminds me of Bell's Two-Hearted.
