Is it worth trading an apple brandy black magick for? Will that trade even happen?

It would take the black magic set to land one.

Have you had it? The beer is everything it is hyped up to be. It was the 2nd best beer of the year (db huna). It's worth whatever you will give up for it. I do wish it was a 750 but if you're planning on drinking it by yourself then it'a not a big deal. It was a little hot from the bourbon but ither than that everything about it was amazing.

I saw a black magik set got for assassin and kbbs earlier when it first came out. But it has increased in value since then i believe.

I see your point but i also wouldn't give up kbbs for two db hunas even though i think it's better, so its kinda a grey area. I gave up 4 ba cakes for kbbs + bb maple and a bunch of locals and also CC + DDG for kbbs + some other good beers. So i would say it was worth it. I guess it comes down to personal preference if you think it is worth it (obviously) but if you haven't had it then i would definitely recommend splurging and going over board to try it once. Just my opinion

When it comes down to two beers that you love and are rated almost the same by you (4.95 and 5) it comes down to rarity. Kbbs is a lot harder to get. I wouldn't need kbbs to get a dbh. So i could just trade something else for it. I also, think that bcbcs is better than kbbs (i rated it a 5 as well) but i wouldn't trade kbbs for a 4 pack of those. Plus i've had dbh many times and still have a few bottles.

    The beer is phenomenal.
13 had a bit too much maple for my taste, so I wasn't expecting what happened when we did the side by side with 13 & 14 around labor day.
The maple has toned down in the 13, and it has evolved to near perfection, only to be edged out slightly by the 14 which, in fact, is perfection.

KBBS 14 is hands down best stout ever for me.
    DBH isn't even close, IMO.

First sentence - I meant I thought13 KBBS had too much maple when it was fresh

Lol reading this post is exactly what is wrong with these forums. Protecting rarity "trade value". I wouldn't risk trading for these whales as I highly doubt anybody objectively rates what they actually taste like in fear of diminishing their trade value. People should really stop trading for these low bottle count, mule cornered supply whales.

Yes, it undoubtedly would be worth doing that trade. However, no that trade will likely never happen.

It was drinking magnificently in October and worth searching out but can't say it's worth what it takes to pull. But then again, no big whale such as this is worth what it takes as you almost always have to give up several beers that are just as good or sometimes even better just to land it.

    But tickers gotta tick right?

I wonder if anyone actually read the question the OP posed?

As someone who's actually had both beers, it would be worth it, but close to a wash. KBBS is in the pantheon of the top five beers I've ever had. On the other hand, Apple Brandy Black Magick was insanely good, which isn't far off of perfection to me. Both are top-tier beers that I'd gladly quaff again.

Unfortunately, KBBS does have the 'hype' factor behind it even more strongly than Black Magick (which had plenty), so this would never happen 1:1, but might be a legit base for a trade.

And no, I don't have a bottle of either & if I did, you could be damn sure I'd be drinking them & not trading them.

Glad to have tried KBBS '14in October but will never go after it again due to the price of admission. I'm going to say the same thing about BVDL '14 once I open that one.

Didn't think KBBS was that much better than the other big stouts like DBH, BA Abraxas etc to justify giving up multiple top tier stouts to get another, but definitely in my top 5 beers for 2014

Best beer I've ever had. It is absolutely worth the hype. I drank it over a week ago and the empty bottle still smells like fresh pancakes.

He asked how it was drinking and if that trade would happen. Seems to me this has been answered a few times now.

Interesting how the conversation wanders off topic when a spotlight hyped bottle is the subject, huh?

Well this is very vague. Heck, it could be the only beer you've ever tasted. Just saying
