Would you still drink beer if it had no alcohol, but was the same in every other way?

But tasted the same, aged the same, and smelled the same, would you still drink it?

Id prob be more into wine or bourbon then. It's not all about the buzz, but it definitely plays the biggest role.

Not as much. Hey, I like milkshakes too but I never drink six in one sitting!

Without alcohol it'd be a lot less expensive, but with all those calories and no buzz...I don't know. I don't drink too much chocolate milk or lemonade or anything else that tastes like some of my favorite beers now, so....prolly not.

Not as much, I'd probably treat it the same way I do gourmet coffee and really rich desserts, as a guilty pleasure

non or low alcohol have been around since Moses wore short pants. I remember as a kid drinking Near Beer which was sold in the soda pop cooler and lack much if any flavor! Its the brewing process that drives the way a beer tastes, if you find a way to make a non alcohol beer taste like an Imperial Stout, you would be beyond wealthy

If the sun provided no heat... but really, would probably drink less. Buzz isn't the most important thing but a solid side effect

Beer without alcohol is out there. It sucks. And if it was the only beer out there, I wouldn't be drinking beer.

Yeah, it's an worthwhile technical question... does no alcohol actually mean without those calories as well? Same taste, but no alcohol and no calories, I'd absolutely drink more. No alcohol but still all the calories, the same or maybe a bit less.

Alcohol makes it difficult for me to sleep (I'm cursed, I know), so I'd definitely be drinking it more often.

I would not be very interested in beer without alcohol. The reason I choose craft beer is because it is a superior transport material for alcohol involving all the senses, but that's just like, my opinion, man.

I would. I wouldn't drink it now if I didn't think it tasted great. I'd probably drink it a bit less though, because I don't go out to the bar to stay completely sober. If beer didn't have alcohol, I'd have to drink something else at the bar.

You're all missing the point of the poll... I'm saying it would be alcohol free, but retain ALL of it's qualities, such as taste and aroma. It wouldn't be near-beer or taste like Sharp's or anything. It would cost less and have fewer calories of course. If beer were the same yet somehow alcohol free, would you still buy and drink it? Surely taste comes before the buzz...?

Personally, if this were the case, I'd never buy soft drinks ever again.

Another perspective is that you're missing the point: alcohol is a part of the taste of beer, inextricably linked. You really couldn't have an alcohol-free beer taste like beer.
