Sometime within the last 14 months I received some beer, and was asked to pay it forward, and now I will. All you have to do is guess the username of the BA who sent me that beer. This BA may or may not still be an active member of the site. First person to guess correctly wins. I will give clues, and the first clue is not an easy one, and will require some creative thinking. It is in a short story I wrote, which follows. If no one gets it from this clue, I will add 1 clue per day until somebody guesses correctly. The clues will get easier along the way.

I am blessed with quite a number of great local breweries, and two that I love are Rushing Duck and Plan Bee. The winner of this contest will get sent to him or her a bottle of Rushing Duck Dog's Bollocks and a bottle of Plan Bee Comb.

-Please make only one guess. More than one guess per clue will disqualify you.
-Please make guesses as a reply to this thread.
-Make an additional one guess after each additional clue is given.
-Not open to anyone who has attended tasting(s) at The Doom Saloon.
-If you live in a frigid area, enter at your own risk of having beers frozen in transit. I will do my best to adjust shipping window to account for extreme cold snaps, but this is on you.
    -Good Luck, and Cheers!

    JOHN LOSES A RACE

John signed up to join a race.

The way it worked was each of the racers would build their car, and they would do it by picking the parts from assortments that contained enough parts to make all the cars, but contained parts so that some were better, and some worse, than other parts. Each of the racers would use their expertise to pick, and it would be done so everyone would have an equal chance at picking some of the best parts When all the cars were built they would race them. After the race the losers would chip in to reward the winners. Before the race began they would have a big party, and all racers would chip in and make it a great event.

John was asked to chip in to the party, and he did, but he never got an invitation to the party. He waited for his invitation to arrive but it never came, and so he missed out on enjoying it.

At the same time plans were being made for when and where to pick out parts and to build the cars. He wanted to find out when and where the build for the race was going to be, but he had trouble getting the information from the online posting, so he sent a message to the race organizer about it, asking for help. He never got a response.

So, John, who already had swallowed a harsh pill when he wasn't invited to the pre-race party, became even more upset.. This quickly passed, though, and he decided to just forget the whole thing, and just let it be water under the bridge. "I am sure they had a great time at the party, I am glad they did, I'll just pretend I bought a round for them all, which I would gladly do anyway. And I am sure they will have fun at the race. I am happy for them all. Now I am just gonna forget the whole thing," he thought.

Imagine John's surprise when he is contacted and informed, some time after the race, that his car had lost, and he needed to send prize money to the winners.

"Wait a minute," John said, "I didn't even build a car."

"Oh, we built it for you, out of the parts no one else wanted," came the reply.

"But I didn't race the car you built out of the left over parts, how could I have lost the race?"

"Oh, we let the car race itself," John was told.

"Are you kidding me?" John replied. "I chipped in money to the party and wasn't invited. I tried to find out where the race car build was gonna be and was ignored. You built a car for me? You let the car drive itself? I don't hear a word from you for all this time? And now I am expected to send money to the winners?"

John had more to say after this, but the words he used were of an 'expletive deleted' variety, and so they will be left out of this story.

Wow Dave, I don't know what all happened during you guys fantasy football league but a great man once, regarding this situation, he hated seeing the old guard take shots at each other. I hope that you and @Cuzco can get everything worked out and feelings can be mended so friendships endure. It is only beer.

So glad you didn't get it right. Not to be mean, but the last LIF I did the first guess got it right, it was so embarrassing, I thought I gave a really hard clue. Hope I didn't make the first one too hard this time.
I am sure I don't know why you would post that in this thread.

And if you are trying to be a spoiler, because you sent me such a great random box, and the answer to this could be you, I will add to above clue that it is not you.

Thanks again for that box by the way, you sir are a very generous human being.

So, not JM03, not PA-Michigander. That narrows it down, some one get it, please

So... is it @Cuzco? I'm kinda lost here.

edit: after the first sentence I was actually going to guess @PA-Michigander, purely on the numbers.

No not Cuzco the clue is hidden in words used in the story.

Don't try to think of any crazy themes you may feel inspired the story, it is just a story about a car race and a man named John, don't overthink this.

Oh well, may have made it too hard, maybe not. Easier clue tomorrow.

Awesome LIF Dave, very creative. I think I'm way off and will put more thought into it tomorrow but wasn't there an active BA named Johncputz at one time or am I just smoking too much crack for the holidays? Anyways, that's my final answer Johncputz.
