I'll join!! Had this a few times now, and it might not even match up to some of the non-BBA Belgian quads, but Clown Shoes has shown time and time again that they know what they're doing with spirit barrels. Cheers!

 

Vivant Tart Side of the Moon. Nothing like the work week being over and having a great beer after having to shovel snow after coming home from your job. (Boy, that last sentence was a mouthful and I'm pretty sure that there's some grammatical errors there. Oh well.) Luckily though, work was pretty easy today and shoveling wasn't that bad; light powdery snow. I think if Belgian farmers had to work the fields in the winter cold, they would've came inside afterwards and rewarded themselves with a beer like this.

 

I know, I know...Trader Joes......Not gonna hit the good stuff until later in the day

I've got two "homemade" brews on tap; an Irish Red Ale and a Holiday spice one that is still looming in the kegs. The holiday spice I added some cinnamon and cloves into the secondary for 5 weeks!!! A bit too long, but the smell is great and the taste is a little more subtle.

These were both Extracts. Thus the Quotation marks!

Infected? I have a bottle I need to open before January 24th (going to FFF then and they are giving refunds for bottles that are infected.) It seems a lot of people have an infected bottle, but I'm interested to see how non-infected bottles are tasting.

 

Good morning BAs! Watched an episode of MST3K today and have a Perry Mason rerun on now. This cold and snowy morning I'm drinking a bourbon-barrel aged oatmeal stout that doesn't particularly taste like bourbon - it's damned good.
No offense intended, but many bourbon barrel aged stouts taste to me like cheap bourbon rather than expensive beers.




Speaking of bourbon and aging:

 

Went out of town for a couple weeks, got back yesterday. To my surprise, there was a 12oz Yeti hiding in the back of the fridge that I had forgotten about. Life is good.
