much more enjoyable to share with someone, has nothing to do with the booze or the sweetness, its just a buddy beer, I have soloe'd one ove the course of a few hours and sure its possible, but its not the same as sharing it was one or two people it makes it more of an experiance and as you can see from my avatar I have had a lot of experiance haha

Fuck, I'm must be a lush because the whole idea of a bomber of BT being a multi day ordeal is odd to me.

I'll take a 750 of BT and wash it down with a couple bourbon counties.

Wrecking a bottle of BT, CR, GM or MW yourself is child's play compared to taking Struise Double Black to the face.

Can I get an amen @ShogoKawada

Drinking a whole bottle of Black Tuesday sounds like a nightmare. Not because it's too much alcohol (though it is) but because that beer is way too sweet to have more than a few ounces of. You might as well just drink a gallon of chocolate milk and save yourself the hangover. You're getting diabetes either way.

I don't understand the hesitance from strictly an ABV perspective - a bottle of BT is essentially just 4 regular bottles of 5% ABV beer (equivalent). Now the sweetness.... sure that could be an obstacle to overcome and force you to take your time. The ABV alone should not be a deterrent IMO.

I'd love to actually get a Black Tuesday to try and found out for myself :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried this a couple of weeks ago with Melange No. 3 (15.5%), and it did not go well. I'm too far removed from my college days. When I do finally decide to crack my BT, GM, and CR, I will need to find a friend or get started much earlier in the day and sip.

A bunch of folks on here seem like the type who would have to ask their wives if this was ok first.

Any size/ABV beer is a single serving size if you put your mind to it guy...I believe in you.

Vacuum wine saver after you're done and put it back in the fridge. It will still be great to sip over a couple days.

I have these in my cupboard and I am not afraid to use 'em...even on a 500 ml bottle of a 10% beer. I've "stoppered" more than one bottle of Framinghammer and so has the missus. They are inexpensive, simple, work well enough for 1 - 2 days in the fridge, and are in most decent liquor stores. I even use 'em when the bottle capacity exceeds the glass. I don't know how the BT bottle matches up, but I've used these on 500 ml bottles, Ommegang and Allagash bombers, etc.

As Harry Callahan said, a man's gotta know his limitations. If that makes me a lightweight, so be it  (Pssstt...I'd also whisper they are available at Bed, Bath, and Beyond but then I really would get my BA card revoked...) Seriously, if I can't spread out consuming a big beer over an afternoon or evening, I'd rather drink less of the beer. I can completely enjoy the experience twice over and have no aftermath. I don't worry about what anybody else thinks.

I did a growler (32oz) of BCBS recently while watching football on a Sun. Took me several hours. Could do a bomber of BT I think.

Right you are! It'd be 8 bottles of 5% or roughly a six pack of 7.5% (pretty common) so definitely still within reason if you ask me.

I'm in the Bronx. I'd supply a BT for an epic bottle share.
