I'm guessing the change in branding/labeling?

I agree. It appears to be a change in branding.

They will probably be like $10 for a bottle
El Segundo beer always cost more than it should and when I went to the tasting room they treated me like crap so I never went back

The beer pictured is their Station No. 1 red ale. They've been brewing it for some time now but I don't think it's ever been bottled before. I think the "big news" has more to do with new labels, not them finally bottling a boring red ale (sorry, ESBC--I really love your hoppy beers and stouts, but this stuff is just OK).

I also saw they're coming out with a new DIPA and are looking for help from their fans on naming it:

    (from their newsletter)

    Name our Beer!
    Friday 1/9 - 4pm
    Ballot Box Open All Weekend

Sometimes names come naturally. One day somebody just threw Hop Tanker out there and everyone quickly cheers'd and it was decided we would make a beer with that name.
And Sometimes.. you think of a recipe that you really want to make, but you've got no name that fits.

Kinda like babies, some parents have names picked out 6 months prior, and some get named.. at some point.

So.. we are in a sticky situation. We've got a BRAND NEW Double IPA, and it is smokin' fresh, and absolutely amazing. But no name.
It's full of Simcoe and Mosaic which basically makes it Tropical-Blueberrydankess2

Bummer, I have always had a good time at the tasting room and I found them to be reasonable for growler fills of local hoppiness.

Agreed on the red ale - didn't realize I have had station no.1 till you said that, def one of my least favorite ESBC beers.

This is surprising to hear. I usually find their bottles for less than Noble/Beachwood prices. Growler fills are fairly cheap and have only had great experiences at the brewery.

Agreed on all counts. Their bottles are always cheaper than those you mentioned.

I've always had a great time at the brewery and will always grab a few bottles when I see them - I don't think they are overly priced at all.

Looks like a rebranding effort as previously mentioned.

Bottle prices at the brewery are reasonable. Lower than Noble and BW bottles for sure. Unless were talking Big Whig bottles-average taste. Now when were talking ESBC's bigger DIPA's then the price per bottle goes up. Still the growler fill prices are better deal. But when the quality comes into play, BW's IPA's and Nobles Shower series (most) will beat out ESBC. Their ipa's are better than average but not as good as BW's and Nobles. Mayberry is one of my favorites, when it's fresh. Before BWLB opened it's doors 3 & half years ago the LA/OC ipa scene was mediocre at best. We were looking south to San Diego for go to ipa's. Well thats changed. And 2015 will be another game changer for us. Three Weavers has some decent ipa's and Bottle Logic has a few also. Beach City's ipa's (IMO) is coming along as they get their hop contract going this 2015. Barley Forge needs to be more consistent in brewing. And nothing bad about Smog City. They just need to bottle some ipa's.

It's been a while since I've picked up an El Segundo beer, but their DIPAs are $9.49 at Total Wine. Their IPAs are $6.99.

It's seems inconsistent, but for the most part, yes. Usually found on the right side of the label about halfway up in white lettering.
