Will do. Almost angry I didn't bring it to work, our heat is out and it's 52 degrees in here. A nice BA beer would do great to warm me up.

You should be charged no more than $24.99 for a 500ml bottle; the last cellar reserve (the 2011 brandy one) was around $19.99 some places. The last bourbon cellar reserve (the 2009) was $24.99.

About in line with what I paid for BA Old Raspy. I'll bite the bullet once. Probably wouldn't make a habit of it, but hey, given it's only once every 2 years even that wouldn't kill me.

The 2009 in Bourbon Barrels is my favorite. Has always been in my top 10 of any beer.

I still have 20+ bottles in my cellar. Will definitely be looking for the new vintage.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Agreed, it was my favorite of the bunch. But I prefer brandy over bourbon.

We did a bit of a vertical at a recent bottleshare:

2009 Bourbon (which I got for $12.99 since it was on close-out, should have grabbed more than one)
    2011 Brandy
2012 Otsuchi (regular for all I know)
    2014 Regular

As a certified Old Stock junkie this is music to my ears!

Nothing tickles me pink than a nice, aged Old Stock ... but I'm a huge fan of the barrel aged cellar reserves too.

Personally I'd go 1) 2005 2) 2011 3) 2009 in my rankings on the cellar reserves, something about the Brandy barreling (which you don't see a ton of) just does it for me, but all are the epitome of world class!

Otsuchi is regular, just different bottle and profit went to japanese disaster relief.

The standard 2013 Old Stock was a fantastic beer - my favorite for a long time so I was really looking forward to the Cellar reserve version. The bourbon barrel aged Cellar Reserve 2013 is super good too but not quiet as special as the 2009.

Having said that, I *personally* liked the 2011 Cellar Reserve above all. Somehow the brandy seems to bring out the fruit in a richer more caramelized fashion whereas the bourbon tends to introduce leather and perhaps even a little tobacco into the mix. Either way the Cellar Reserve is consistently one of the best beers on the planet.

The only thing that could improve this beer it would be:

    BIGGER BOTTLES!!!

Come on North Coast, those 500ml (but deceptively 750ml looking) bottles are a total bummer.

Ale Yeah!, Green's, Tower, Hop City, all tweeted this week it was in. It's limited, so most place will be sold out by now.

Man I miss the 2006-2010 labels, those were the best. Both the bottle label and the packaging.

I almost gave it away as an extra but the trade bombed. Seems like fate is saying that I must drink it.
