I thought It was a lot of fun. The servers were friendly, the fireplace was warm, the CBS was great and the various pulled meats were tasty.

Look at the flights this way: for $13 you get 20 oz of Founders' finest, which includes a beer that hasn't been brewed in three years served from keg 1 of 3 in MN that isn't available in bottles and only costs you 65 cents an ounce. AND it's a format that gives more people the opportunity to try a rare beer.

Think about the other rare releases people bitch about here. There are tons of places that would charge $13 or more for a 10 oz pour. It sucks you have to drink more good beer to get a great beer, but you also don't really need to dome 3 glasses of CBS that could have been instead enjoyed between 6 people, most of whom have never tried it.

I like this statement a lot and now I see the other side of things. I guess since I have had cbs out on tap and out of the bottle it wasn't a 'must-attend' event. Had I not had it, I would have probably been there. Thanks for pointing this out from a different angle.

I also like this statement a lot. It seems like a lot of rar whalezzzz beer releases in MN turn into messes. It appears as if this one was done very well (based off the comments). Maybe I was a bit selfish wanting sample glasses of cbs only and not the flight. I suppose if they did 4 oz pours of cbs, people would just buy multiple 4 oz pours. With the flight, it kind of makes you drink all the beers (unless you want to waste quality beer) before getting another flight.

    Cheers and thank you sir!

Did someone on the internet just thoughtfully consider another person's point of view and modify their opinion slightly as a result?? That's it guys. The internet is over. Everything it stands for is in ruins.

Agree. It's time to throw in the towel and head over to Sporty's for a pint of Saga after calling them on the phone to make sure they have it!

Wow, a nomination for post of the year and it's only January. Well done!

Btw, I think I will keep track of 'amazing posts' and we can vote in December. It'll bring back good memories.

I thought doing the flight for CBS was legit because all the beers were good. After 6 me and a few others were able to get 4 oz glasses of CBS for $5 until the keg blew @ 6:45.

I totally turncoated and decided to go with a coworker of mine. Luckily, he had people there ahead of time, who held a table for us. Met the founders rep - really nice guy, was really doing a good job as far as I could tell.

I had one flight, then another flight with food. CBS was legit. I also love their Harvest offering, and the black rye was awesome, so I had no issues paying the premium for the flight. worth it, imo.

We joked with our server about getting an entire flight of only CBS (joking around, she was too) and she commented that there were some people there being really nasty about the flight vs single glass approach, which was really unfortunate, because for the life of me, i can not understand why people come down on the staff for the decisions of the management.

Screw that, they have too many vegetarian options there.

I agree. I'm so tired of this creeping "vegetarian tolerance" in our society today. It starts with vegetarians, but then before you know it people are marrying their dogs and we're all supposed to act like it's okay.

I guess I'll see you at the Surly brewery, where I hear they are more "hostile" about that sort of thing (vegetarian menu options, I mean...I'm not sure where Todd stands on the issue of people marrying their dogs).

That was tongue in cheek. I honestly don't really care either way. I am not a picky eater and can always find something to eat on any menu as long as it's not fast food.

For the record, I am against people marrying their dogs but on the fence about marrying cats.

I'm hoping most people read both of our posts as tongue in cheek!

Does anybody know where either of the other two kegs will be yet? I was lucky enough to get two pours at Grizzly's last night, but I had several friends who weren't able to make it before it was gone.
