Local Option in Chicago is hinting on their Twitter that they also have a keg - event details to be released sometime today (still nothing).

As of 4:30pm you could still walk in to O'Tooles and get a ticket. Wish I could have made it back in time but the weather today absolutely destroyed traffic.

So it's my understanding that this wasn't the shitshow that everyone expected. I believe they still had pour tickets available as late as 6:15. But then again, it was 10 degrees with a 20-mph wind-driven snow.

I was sick as a dog last night. Did Local Option end up tapping CBS, yesterday?

Wasn't a shit show at all. I'm sure the weather had a lot to do with it. It was definitely more crowded than that place usually gets from past visits. Tables filled up quickly after people got off work but there was plenty of standing room. I normally wouldn't have attempted going but I had to meet someone for the Hawks game so figured I'd knock out two birds with one stone. I saw some people get 2nd pours, so I don't think they originally sold all their tickets, but I'm not 100%. I was happy with my 1 glass. I know I'm in the minority, but I'd take a Breakfast Stout any day over CBS. This batch did nothing to change my thoughts on it.

Lizardville Lakewood (Cleveland) is tapping CBS along with bottles of KBS and some other stuff in some sort of ticket flight event. Tickets (175 total I believe) for sale that day Jan 29th.

    Should be a solid event.

If any of you are near the GR area, I asked a bartender at Founders last night if/when they would have CBS on at the taproom again. He responded that at the end of the month they will be clearing out a bunch of their inventory and should have it as well as "some other interesting things".

That's why I traded for a 64 oz. growler , nice and cozy at home with a big F-ing snifter, and it is fan-tas-tic! Let it warm a bit and that maple pours forth.

He did not. He just made it seem like he was referring to the last week of the month.

Went to Timothy O'Toole's last night after work @7:30; my brothers got there at 5:15 & were able to get 3 tix (2 for them, one extra for when I arrived)- we all got an initial pour, then at @ 8:30, were able to get a 2nd pour & the event ran very smootly. At Black Rock now- their release was run just as well with tickets & wristbands. My husband & I each got a pour so we're happy campers! Cheers!

Went to Black Rock and it went great. They made sure everyone who had a wristband got a pour then opened it up to anyone. So glad I finally got to try this one fresh.

I'll third Black Rock running smoothly. Maybe 20-30 in line just before 5p for tickets, then tickets sold out in maybe 30-45 minutes. Didn't seem like a challenge to get tickets at all. Actual tapping was smooth, nice big pours. The special CBS food menu wasn't too bad either.

As a side note, I overheard one of the managers say Chicago only got 18 kegs total of CBS. Earlier in the thread I saw ~20, but either way, I'm not sure if that's a large or small amount for this beer. 3 announced tappings so far, so there's at least 15 more to come.

The Founders rep at Black Rock last night said that KBS is FBS aged for a year in bourbon barrels and CBS is KBS aged in maple syrup barrels for another six months, all in the caves/mines under Grand Rapids. Overall the event was very well run, glad I finally got my first taste of CBS!
