    The profiteering is ugly, to be sure, but the only way to stop it is to not indulge it. It's no different than complaining about bomber prices (which I complain about loudly!) -- only way to be part of the solution is to stop buying them altogether. (Which I've done.) Don't like the profiteering -- refuse to trade for the bottles either entirely or, at the very least, until a track record has been established. Unfortunately, there are folks out there who want these releases (and I don't just mean Kiwi so much as any niche release) bad enough, sight unseen, that, though perhaps not at the exorbitant level some folks are asking for them, the pre-trade/value spikes will continue.

    Again, this release has felt particularly excessive on the profiteering end, but I dare say similar stuff happens regularly (thinking of, for example, the most recent Resolute release), and that probably isn't changing any time soon, because, quite frankly, the insatiable demand for limited niche releases isn't going anywhere. It sucks, but it's just where we're at. FWIW, I bought one bottle, rather than two, and will hopefully enjoy it overlooking the endless Pacific from the cliffs of Point Loma:slight_smile:

    Hahaha, well, to be fair, if the kindly folks at Alpine make a few kegs available during the pickup and I can get a glass, I might be inclined to hook a past trader up:wink:
