Most over rated beer there is, if you ask me.

Yeah just looked at them 3/23/14 so like others have said last year's. Seams strange to release beer from last year.
I didn't realize KBS went bad? Man I better hurry up and drink my multiple verticals! In my opinion a beer that just keeps getting better.

the coffee wont fade if it is kept refrigerated or at least it will fade at a much slower rate. ive had it 3 years old still with good coffee profile. i had to have it 5 years old before i couldnt really get any coffee flavor. ive always kept my coffee beers refrigerated so maybe thats why i dont notice much change within the first couple years.

    Exactly.

People should stop putting coffee or maple flavored beers on a shelf in the basement and start leaving them in the fridge. Even prop/vanilla should be refrigerated.

Pretty much goes for any adjunct beer

I had a 2012 the other night and thought it was very good, but I agree fresh KBS is best.

Drinking my last 14 now. Been refridgerated since I got it and it is all coffee and no bourbon.
    Weird vintage this year.

even when it was fresh there was no bourbon. the past 2 years of KBS have basically been Imperial FBS

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. 3 yr old KBS still has more bourbon flavor than either of the last 2 releases. I've just been thinking they must have started doing partial BA, like Deschutes. Blending the BA with non BA to make it go further and still get to call it BA.

I had a 2009 KBS and it had almost as much coffee taste as the 2014.
