Bruery 2015 RS/HS Allocations

Geez another infection. I hope not.
Glad 2014 mocha Wednesday is drinking fantastic right now!!

 

How was the coffee character in the last bottle of 2014 you drank? I opened one on New Years Eve and I wouldn't say it had fallen off a cliff, but it had faded considerably to the point where it was drinking far more like BT than fresh MW. Not bad, but the delicate coffee aromatics it had fresh were missing.

 

The coffee aroma has faded some(fresh you could smell it 3 feet away), but the taste is now balanced more. I loved it fresh, and still digging the coffee flavor it in..

 

Three shirts were $8. Tulip alone was $8. Not both. Sorry if that was confusing. Love the attitude. Bet you have a lot of friends.

 

I hope this is a joke, I really hope it is, and Mods thread-block users for riling up people for no reason (not saying you at this point, I'll need to go pick up my bottles).

If it is not a joke I am absolutely blown away how this could have made it past the litany of QC and lab checks they seem to be doing. Additionally with such a hefty ABV, how it could have developed into a notable infection this quickly is surprising. Those who have already picked up bottles please chime in and post your experience. I won't be out there to pickup till next weekend.

It gushed upon cracking, and extreme sour apple flavor. Same bug as 13 WC id reckon. Hopefully it's an isolated incident.

 

This infection issue on MW better be a joke, had it on tap last night and it's amazing!

 

I call troll. It's highly improbable that a 19.2%'er would be infected or that the Bruery would release it if it were. Silly internet.

 

Nobody is crying to the mods, hence the 'other words' that directly followed what I wrote.

If it ends up being a real issue, I can only hope that maybe there is a sub-lot that could be jeopardized and some that might not but it seems like we'll have to wait for more reports. At $40 a pop I'd be corking that bottle and bringing it back to them though. At this point I am glad I hung on to 3 of my 2014 bottles this long.

gushing could just be a bad batch of barley. i had that with a bottle of 2014 grey monday. i opened it with a brewer from southern tier, and he instantly identified the issue based on the gushing. he said it didn't affect flavor, and it wasn't something you would test for. bottle tasted fine.

 

Right. But he didn't say it was just gushing. He said it was sour apple.

I haven't picked up my bottles yet so I'm waiting to hear some other reports. As far as it being fine on tap, that's not really surprising. Everything that they've had issues with infection has been fine on tap.

 

I cracked a 2014 GM around Christmas that gushed, but tasted fine as well.

 

They poured it out of the bottle on society member Monday and it tasted great. I did not ask, however what year it was.

 

Mine gushed. Plus sour apple, fruity/tartness. Maybe @SanFranJake can expand on the experience.

 

*crossing fingers for isolated incident* although it sucks you had to go through that.

 

They are filing the hydro flasks today.

 

I can attest to the experience.
Definitely seemed tart and mildly fruity and not at all what I would expect.
So much for maxing out my Hoarders allocation.
