Anyone know where to get bulk amount of the bubble wrap bags that hold 12oz bottles?

If you are sending a couple of bottles at a time, the bubble bags I have seen are fairly spendy - around $4 per bag. They have them on Amazon.com but I don't like the looks of them.

You can get a 125' roll of bubble wrap from Office Depot for $40 bucks (smaller rolls cost less) which should last a lifetime. With a pair of scissors and a role of packing tape you can make any size bottle secure.

This place has different size bubble bags but I would probably go with the bubble wrap: http://www.uline.com/Grp_135/Bubble...gclid=CO-YpPHNisMCFQcOaQod4IgAaw&gclsrc=aw.ds

If you are looking to ship 12 or so bottles at a time, order some beer from an online retailer and then use the box they send you the beer in.

I have rarely, if ever, used bubble wrap in all of my trades or when bringing beer back from a trip. I just use free newspaper publications or whatever else I find or feel led to (that is free). Bubble wrap is an unnecessary expense that I apparently have never had a need for.

Bottle-wrap bags are definitely spendy and not necessary, just use good ol' fashioned bubble wrap. I encourage the use of rubber bands though over packing tape to secure the wrap so that it's all reusable. This way, BAs can just reuse and repackage without additional expense.

my god yes. BAs should stop using packing tape on bubble wrap. Bubble wrap and rubber bands makes it so much nicer to reuse the packing materials. It is also much easier to pack everything up. Cut a bunch of sheets of bubble wrap, roll bottle and then rubber band. Then my partner just needs to pull off the rubber band and can easily reuse the bubble wrap for their next trade.

It is a bit of a bummer for me to get a box that looks like it was packed with whatever trash the other guy had laying around when it was time to pack..

    Rubber bands for all.

I use Bubble wrap and then use the green cellophane wrapping around the bubble wrap. It has worked for me.

Hmmm...I think you kinda need to bubble wrap the bottles. I use newspaper at times for space filler, but I would feel WOEfully inadequate if I didn't have something cushiony around the bottles themselves.

I love using rubber bands to secure bubble wrap. It works great like we have already established many times in many threads.

Normally, tape doesn't get used correctly. This is a common problem with new shippers that makes people hate tape. You always wrap with the bubbles facing in on the item at hand. The smooth surface is on the outside. This smooth surface is perfect for 1-2 small pieces of tape to secure the bubble wrap. The tape peels off the bubble wrap with ease. No bubbles are destroyed. No more hassle than taking a rubber band off.

People just need to wrap their beer correctly and tape wouldn't be an issue. Bubbles facing in to increase surface area cushion and small pieces of tape on the smooth outside surface works just fine.

This is true, just bought one yesterday. And use rubber bands to wrap them:wink:
