Bottles hit Portland in force today. Check your neighborhood shop and they likely have it.

they were 32-34 with the "Juneau tax", so $36 in PDX makes me feel at least a little better. I went out to grab a couple more bottles yesterday and it seems as if they're all gone from Juneau.

If there was a beer worth that price it would be devil imo. Still it's expensive

Nope. Cork & caging imperial stouts and barleywines is stupid and a waste of money. That closure is meant for highly carbonated beverages where a standard cap (in the case of beer) or cork (in the case of wine) won't maintain integrity. I have no desire to pay for the additional cost of heavy glass, corks, cages, and labor when it isn't needed, nor do I enjoy wrestling a cork out of a bottle of lightly carbonated beer.

What would be the reason for feeling "pissed" about it not being corked? Honestly can't think of one good reason.

I'm sure it's lightly carbed compared to champagne or geueze.

"If I'm paying $30+ for a beer, I damn well better be paying $4 for packaging."

Every beer they have ever made prior to this point was corked. Just something special about popping a cork. Makes it feel a bit better for dropping so much on the bottle.

Anchorage cages have always been the most frustrating cages. They always break, even when I'm gentle. They needed to do something different. Or at least invest in cages that work well! Also looking forward to actually being able to "buy" a bottle this time around. Great beer. Looking forward to it.

A beer with few peers, imo. Would pay more than the shelf price gladly, and repeat.
