so tonight I was sorting through my cans and casually dropped a can of sculpin into a box with other cans and it got a puncture in the side of the can that started spraying out precious beer every where.

thinking quickly I dropped the can in a duvel glass to save what I could and after the pressure equalized I opened the can and poured the rest into the glass. It still tastes delicious like several casked ipas I've had. I would not normally open a room temp beer to drink but it does make me curious about other beers at room temp. Any other suggestions on beers that may be better served over normal temps?

so far I am enjoying this sculpin more than the chilled cans bottles or on tap that I have had.

There are some people who drink all their beer room temperature.

I never drink craft beers cold, why hide taste...but if I'm at a party that's serving miller lites or something, give it to me frosty..

I like my hoppy beers cold, and they taste just fine to me, if you like room temp beer that's ok by me too.

Stouts, Imperial Stouts, and Bourbon Barrel Aged Stouts are always great at room temperature. Six Point Brewery makes an IPA called Resin. When I had it chilled, I didn't like it very much. But one day I had one at room temperature and loved it.

I let a beer sit out of the fridge for a 5-20 minutes closed, before I open it. The higher the ABV the longer I will let it sit out. I agree, letting the beer warm up a little gives more flavor in most cases.

Typically barleywines, belgian quads, imperial stouts and old ales. There are a few others but they aren't styles I regularly see.

I always let my beer warm up for a little while after taking it out of the fridge before opening and drinking

I've noticed anything with a high ABV opens up more as it warms. I never liked the Prairie Bomb series, but I left a half full glass of pirate bomb out for a bit (on accident) and when I came back to it the flavors had opened up. I could taste the rum barrel (still not on the nose) as the cocoa seemed to have mellowed out. So what I've started to do is pore some into a separate glass and let it sit while I enjoy the rest of the bottle. Then come back to it when the bottle is empty.

Sometimes I drink my pilsners warm because it's the most amount of flavor I'll get out of 'em.

Not lagers, though, definitely don't drink those warm, especially if they have coffee vanilla notes.

Depends on room temperature. Here in AZ mine is about 80 degrees for 8 months of the year. But January, maybe 68.

Any fresh IPA should be good in the 60's.

My beer fridge is at the highest temp I can set it at, somewhere in the 50's. Compare that with my regular fridge at 38. I still let most beers warm up a little beyond that, and for any high ABV I let them get quite a bit warmer.

I keep my beer fridge on the warmest setting it allows (~50 degrees F) and pull them out about an hour before I plan to drink them. If the beer I want isn't in the fridge, I'll pull it from the cellar and place it in the fridge about 20-30 minutes before I plan to drink it.
