    Wax-sealed @ 10% abv but less than $10 a bottle out here... :grimacing: :sunglasses:

    You can't tell from the pic, but the beer is crystal clear and dark ruby-brown. Drinks like a Fuller's Vintage old ale or an English ale more than most American barleywines I've had. Lots of shellac and toffee. Slim-bodied and slightly sticky.

    The Killer Penguin was sweeter and had a bigger body, but not inordinately so - they share a lot of flavor and feel points.



    Looking forward to GB at Seattle and new Indy at New Engy :confused: next weekend...
    My real wish is for a Seattle (repeat) Superbowl win. Everything about Seattle works for me - cool coach, low ego QB, massive defense, massive run-game... I actually hope Indy upsets NE, because NE scares me more than GB.

    Good early afternoon BAs! A productive day so far - MST3k followed by 1.5 hours moving snow from my driveway followed by an old "Perry Mason" followed by shipping a box of NBS BIF "glassware" to volcano land followed by a couple episodes of "American Dad" while having homemade chili and Hop Hog for lunch.

    To me this isn't really a winter beer but it's quite tasty, will definitely buy more when it gets a bit warmer outside. cheers everyone, have a great day.
