South Lyndale still had one bottle of Bent Paddle Double Black and two of Star of the North when I was there last night.

 

Gonna swing by South Lyndale tonight with my fingers crossed. Top 5 beer of 2014 in my book.

Odell Friek and Deschutes Dissident near Richfield?

 

Total Wine in Edina, Cheers in BLM had Friek recently... I haven't seen dissident in south metro lately.

 

Pent-o' Graham coming in Februaro.

 

I have seen Pentagram sitting around in a few places. Usually 23.99 or 24.99 though. Byerly's Maple Grove had about 6 on Saturday. I'd speculate they will make fewer this year like they did with Smoke.

Those places just need to get real with their pricing. MGM in Chaska had them at $20 and in September I think it was they knocked them down to $16. A few weeks later they knocked them down to $14 and they were gone in no time.

Not sure why places sit on overpriced stock rather than just drop them down to a fair price and move them.

 

Pretty sure pentagram is in rochester still... Where mirror mirror will be on the shelf for the next year or so

 

there was an MGM that required a purchase of Pentagram in order to buy Darkness. i laughed. guess thats one way to get rid of the stock.

 

Some stores, even though they are business, just don't get supply and demand. I'm sure some of them are sitting out there saying 'I need to make my margin on this beer!', and as a result are going to have that it sit in their shelf taking up room that another beer that will move could have been in. Sometimes you just need to cut down on your margin, or even take a loss, to get stuff moved and out the door.

And hopefully they remember it this year and order less... Hopefully the distributor isn't pulling games of saying they have to take X amount of Pentagram in order to get the other Surly stuff. Absolutely zero idea of whether that's happening or not, but its been known to happen in other places with other breweries...

Goose Island Class of 88 Belgian Style Ale on clearance at South Lyndale for $6.99. Bottled date of almost exactly one year ago, 1/13/14. I'm enjoying it.

 

Oddball curiousity question: Anyone see Headless Heron lately?

 

They had it at the Haskell's near the Maple Grove Hospital when I was there this weekend.

 

Saw it at Rum River last week.

 

I know I've seen it in the last week... now where was I? Maybe Total Wine Burnsville, or Apple Valley #3?

 

Big Top in St. Paul had it recently, I believe.
