It makes me fat; every beer is like 3000 calories these days.

A cellar phone app that allows you to add beers by simply scanning the label. Nearby users can see the contents of your cellar and are only able to message you if they have scanned beers in your wants section.

    Beer tinder :grinning:

A affordable digital hydrometer that constantly monitors my homebrew's gravity. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a beerbug.

Oh, that's trickier. I thought you were having problems at the beginning. You can try to stop that by rotating the bottle as you turn it back upright, or you can wait several seconds for that hanging drop to drip, or you can just grab a napkin. Or you can invent a collar.

A phone app that lets you take inventory of your cellar by scanning barcodes. The things I care about would be bottled-on date, best-by date, added-to-cellar date, cellar temp, quantity and location (if more than one beer fridge, like I have). I would like to be able to sort results by any of these factors. A social component would be nice as well, allowing people to share their cellars with each other, to mark beers they are willing to trade.

EDIT - Just read up the thread and saw I am not the only one asking for this. Hello, app developers?

What bugs me about craft beer? Stupid hops puns. So if you could go ahead and fix that that would be great.

oversaturation. Seems weird and I should love all the choices, but at a local bar this week I looked over the 50 beers on tap (many of them I really like) and I just felt overwhelmed and became cynical almost looking at the list. Stupid really I admit, kind of like 250 channels of TV and nothing to watch I guess.

They have koozie type things for wine, but here's a trick that I originally learned from America's Test Kitchen:

I am going to use the first question as an excuse to rant, ignoring the part about it being fixed by a product release.

One thing that bothers me is when people promote the use of "beer snob." Don't make fun of others that drink beer from the big boys, it's what they enjoy so no need to look down upon them. Simply make lateral recommendations...for example if they like Blue Moon then recommend an Odell Easy Street.

Another thing that bothers me are whale hunters. Stop trying to snag the MOST amount possible of one particular special release. Drink the fuckin' beer. Don't hoard it.

I think overall one thing we need to do as beer lovers is look beyond the branding, labels, and sexy wax seals. I can do that to my homebrews but it does not = a better beer. Focus on what's inside the bottle, whether there are 300 bottles of it released or 3,000,000.
