They may have motives, but it's more believable that they have at least had the beer.

This is mere discussion and in no way should this be taken personal.

The point you are trying to make is coming off clear as a bell. Your opinion is valid, but your point is flawed. One way or another your choosing who to believe...but you'll really never know for certain unless you have tried the beer yourself. Cheers.

I'm with you on the bolded. As for the above, I assume you mean some of the raters have ISOs up? Sure, by all means, be skeptical. That's fair. But there's still no way to be certain the ratings aren't legit. Which leaves us, as ever, discussing the general meaningfulness, or lack thereof, of ratings on this site.

Moral of the story: only you can decide what you like, and the only way to get to try a lot of these limited beers is to either have solid trade relationships or, less desirably, pay out the rear for stuff, because that's just the beast we're dealing with these days.

It's pretty awesome to have two bottles of this waiting for me at Alpine - one which I will drink, one which will go to a long time regular - and give zero fucks about how the beer is being rated.

I'm gonna go rate down Jester King's O&P. This is a full-on strawberry wild ale civil war!

Juuuuuuuuuuuust Kidding. (O&P was delish when i got a pour at Shelton festival.)

I hope you won't  I love the O&P and never had a better strawberry beer. I'm not sure if I should expect Kiwi to compete with it since I expect it to be completely different beer.

Agree with bold. Ok, lets stop complimenting another region's beer. We're at war!

Pretty pathetic that people are worried potential bogus ratings impacting trade value of their beer. Pretty sure this is not the reason why the bros created the trade forum.

Who said these grievances were about preserving trade values?

To be honest, it's about what I expected. A solid beer, above average, but I can't call it great. Fruit comes out once it warms up, so definitely don't drink this one cold.

This has nothing to do with trade value.

This has everything to do with defending honor.

It's like the beer equivalent of Braveheart or that I am Sparta movie... I don't know which one. I don't watch movies.

If anyone got anything ridiculous pre-trade for this, good for you.

In my experience, bottles are always better. I imagine this is bottle conditioned right?

I'm not smart enough to answer this other than to say the bottle does not advertise that it is.

It may not be. I heard that the beer was carbonated 2 weeks before release, which could indicate no bottle conditioning...but I'm not sure if that is a definite "no".

So some people are saying that this sour is worse than a majority of Almanac's sour offerings?? Haha.. I somehow highly doubt that.
