I definitely agree, strawberry doesn't come through. If it was just a kiwi sour I think my rating would be higher. Still a really balanced sour, just hoped for more red berry is all

To add on to what otb said I did over hear Sean saying another sour will be coming online this year

Okay, kinda what I was thinking. I've had a pre-conceived notion of Beatification, FFAC level.

This confuses me. You're saying it's on the same level as those two but it's also in the same category as Sourrento?

Well i rated Sourrento higher, but yea it was in that range....

Does voting on report on a clearly bogus review even do anything?

I almost feel like I need to be a douche and rate it a 5 just to counteract other douches obviously fake reviews. My honest opinion would be somewhere in the 4.25-4.5 range. Almost on the verge of great, but just not quite there.

well there are probably some inflated reviews there already hoping to pump up trade value. Shit goes both ways on the instawales.

Yeah, I get that everyone's tastes are different, but I'm just flabbergasted when I read people say things like "better than Chez" or "better than DDG". How a brand new sour can be better than one of the best American gueuze and one of the best American Wild Ales is beyond me.

Found this in the Kiwi trade thread concerning the question if the mods ever adjust beer ratings due to home cooking or beer envy. Quite pertininent. @IggyWH

So I drank about 40ozs today, here is my opinion:
It was really well put together, Chez was more tart but should expect that due to fruit used.
Kiwi was more in the front, had plenty of Strawberry on the backend.
Instawhale? No, but neither was Chez. I want to give some of these bottles more time to see how it develops.

P.S. Do not listen to anyone talking about kegs, call first. I heard different than anyone else that posted and was told they were making sure it was on this weekend.

manny90 sounds like he has a couple of BA logins to leave fake reviews. lol. "Instawhale", it's beer. It's hilarious to observe the type of BS that is going on, on both sides of the coin. The honor system no longer works because everybody is a damn crybaby.

I value your opinion more than anybody's today. Thanks for this

P.S. for people who don't know @Xtent gave a bottle of Kwh away.

That's just it. I am not taking them back to the States. I live in Europe now and Fou is one of my favorite beers of all time. They are for consumption by myself or with friends. @Crispy25 had it right with getting too far from the advocacy of beer.

I was attempting to make the same point you just did, and used instawhale more as a sarcastic pejorative. I got no skin in this game.

In general I agree with your sentiment. In the US I rarely bought full brewery set allotments. I think you have a much more vast and frequent set of quality beers being released. Not so much over here. There may be incredibly good beers but they are fewer and further between releases from a much smaller number of Brewers. Cheers!
