They do any special release beers or seasonals that are worth it? I've had Sympathy for the Lager, Rodeo Clown, and I think one other one... maybe Weisse Versa or Weekend Warrior, can't remember.

Actually, I would love to just get a glass of this on tap somewhere. One and done.

I'll tell you what happened last year. I was in world market and saw it on the bottom shelf by chance. World market is like pier one with beer and wine so most beer nuts are not going in there hunting for it. First time and definitely not the last. 24 dollars.

Be careful at World Market, lots of old beer on their shelves.

Each year craft beer snobbery continues to increase. Take worth chasing out of the equation and pretend you happen to stumble across it at one of the many locations that are not price gouging. I can only count on one hand similiar DIPA's that are as good as Hopslam for around $17 ($.25/oz with tax) with a comparable ABV, hopps employed in the brewing including honey. Sure there are a bunch of better DIPA in bombers but the price per ounce makes Hopslam look like a bargain. Firestone double jack is the only beer that comes to mind around me in terms of quality, price, and best of all it is always available. Even though it's overhyped it is hyped for a reason and hard to find despite the production increase each year. I have a simple 5 tier system for beers and Hopslam deserves a spot on the top. I guess in the end everyone's pallet is a little different and there's just no account for taste, but stop trying to bring it down a peg to pontificate your superior taste. Other than availability and hearing it talked about less, what more could you possibly want?

He then grabs a $22 bomber off the shelf without a second thought. ; )

    $7.99/48 = .1665 an oz
    $19.99/72 = .2776 an oz
which is roughly a 66% difference

That's if we use your different formats all have the same pricing structure theory. The reality is that's its overpriced.

I'm super intrigued by this brew. I have a fellow BAer sending me some as we speak! I looked up distro in MA and laughed out loud when I saw that Bells distributes everywhere around me just not TO ME! That said, the fact that this is even in the conversation as a whale makes me want to try it! Thanks Wilmer!!

I just love it when people try and tell me how I should think about something that is subjective and relates only to my personal experiences. You must be so much fun a parties!

According to a few people I have talked to Hunterdon is trying to add Bells to their portfolio. I hope this does happen, and soon because I love me some Bells.

    Dirtwolf at $10-12/48oz= $0.208-0.25/oz
    Hopslam at $16-17/72oz= $0.222-0.237/oz

Point being I have paid more per ounce for Dirtwolf than I do for Hopslam. Cheers!

I will buy at least two sixers if not a case like I always do. It is the only thing that makes January in Michigan doable.

A friend picked-up a case and 1/2 today at the General Store (believe he paid around $100); it's waiting for me to head to Kalamazoo this weekend and adopt it. Very happy.

Distro is based solely on sales of Bells. Roughly every 50 cases of Bells sold in a year will get that store one case of Hopslam. If you are looking for it, go to the place that sells Two Hearted the cheapest. (if you are not local) There are some stores that buy it 50 cases at a time and sell Heart for $7.99 just to get more Slam.

I've already got my hopslam shopping all planned out(make friends with not only your local bottle shops, but also grocery stores). With Nugget Nectar next Friday and Hopslam the following Friday, should be a pretty awesome two weeks coming up! And since Hopslam last touched my lips, I have probably had a number of IPAs and DIPAs that I like more, but Hopslam is fucking excellent and I cannot wait until I can get it again. I'll grab two or three six packs to start. One of my favorites, whale or not.
