Sucks that you went to a bar that had a limited amount and allowed bottles to go which lots of people are willing to show up early for, but if all you want to do is try the beer, it's best to avoid those kind of places. At least one bar you frequent (Cottonwood) and another dozen or so places around town have had bottles available for on-site consumption for 2-3 full days now. Be smart. Check the list. Call around. It's really not that hard to find.

Drove all the way to Hay Merchant from Katy when my students left for the day and it sold out several people in front of me...those bastards. How dare they do a three bottle limit!

Not everyone will be able to get bottles. HOWEVER, the google doc list doesn't list every place that get/got bottles...check local places. Pick up the phone and ask. Develop friendships with local bars/restaurants and frequent those places. If you really want a bottle, you'll find one. I did.

Dan's pizza on the Southside to stay on topic of the off topic.

If you just want to try it/not cellar it, I've seen past Bishop's Barrels at Little Woodrow's Midtown and even Drinkery Midtown months after release. I don't think Brews Brothers in Galveston has posted when they'll sell their stash, so that may be a future to-go option.

My BB experience: once at Flying Saucer and knocked out 3 with a buddy on a holiday (MLK or President's Day - whichever my company took) the others I've stumbled across at Woodrow's Midtown, Mongoose vs Cobra or the brewery itself.

Still hate the "reward restaurants/bars and also spread the wealth" claim especially since it is bottled, but I'm not losing sleep over beer or lack of a specific one

the problem is that those are my regular places. And I like those places. anyway... I vented enough last night, I'm not going to continue today.

I am hoping that somewhere with on-premise consumption makes it until friday. I have scheduled my weekend around a burger and hopefully a glass of this somewhere on Friday night...

I really do think that my relationship with SA beers is going to change as a result of this tom-foolery. I am just fed up, and there's too much choice out there in the marketplace for me to put up with this kind of crap. No fault of the brewers/beers...

@Bluestar - at least one place on the link that rainerschuhsler provided shows to-go availability as of 1/14. If you really want to try the beer, what's stopping you?

@Bluestar I've been saying for a while, if Karbach can get their barrel-aged series in stores and Saint Arnold's can't, then something is wrong. I agree with you, Saint Arnold's business plan for Bishop Barrel is complete horseshit. And while I'm at it, so is 90% of their beer. I couldn't even finish a pint of their Christmas Ale. Absolutely disgusting.

Heights Hubcap tweeted last night that they had some to-go and late. I didn't check it out because I was exhausted, but they've got a $5 hatch burger on right now too. And since this is no longer PizzaAdvocate, I see no reason not to make it BurgerAdvocate. Good burger there.

@Bluestar I don't think that you forced me to read your entire rant any more than St A "excluded" you but just as you feel you don't deserve that exclusion, I don't feel I deserved to read that whole thing. I did though. So you owe me a beer now. That's the rule.

Y'all's business plan really is the worst. I have no idea how you've even managed the huge year-over-year growth that has been experienced since getting into the new location. And serving great food? Screw you guys. Seriously. If I wanted to run a business into the ground, I need only take a page from Brock's 4-page pamphlet of a playbook and let it ride. I bet he doesn't even drink beer. What a phony.

I'm also mad I did not get any BB8.

I will post a tl;dr rant for @boogercrack and @rainerschuhsler to read later this afternoon. I hope you guys will enjoy my ode to asshats that hoard.

This is pleasing and disheartening to read.
