Anyone see this in South Jersey yet? I love this series and will definitely be buying a few bottles. Expensive but worth the price in my opinion. Excellent when fresh and ages very gracefully.

Kays Wines and Spirits just got this in if anybody in Hartford County CT is looking for it. Glad I could get my hands on this and barrel aged Rasputin this year.. Cheers!

Hope you got your fill. There were 10 bottles on the shelf at Green's Ponce last night.

I found a whole case elsewhere. Stocked up but not as much as I had planned. Money didn't agree with me this week.

I think I'm in the minority here...
I was stoked to find a bottle of 2009 at my local taphouse last month. Wife and I shared it on Christmas.
We both said at the same time "I'd rather have regular Old Stock".
I think what we like about regular Old Stock is that it's easier to drink. An almost sweet, mellow barleywine style. The British style instead of the American bitter.
They took what we like and added bourbon to it.
Maybe I'm just tired of bourbon barrel beers. I seem to be buying less and less of those lately.

I'm super glad I tried it and it was still a tasty beer. However, it just made me appreciate regular Old Stock and how readily available it is.

I just had a 2014 old stock for the first time last night. I was pretty blown away because I didn't know what to expect. I thought it finished too boozy, though, so I'll sit on the others for at least a year to see what happens. Also grabbed 2011 and 2013 reserve in SF at Ales Unlimited. They have a deal if you buy one of each year, it comes out to $41. Still pricey but better.

No wood, just whiskey? I might feel let down if that was the case for my (hypothetical) bottle.

Might just be my taste but I didn't get wood (lol). Just a bourbon /booze taste. Could be my expectations were set too high. Or I'm just burnt out on Bbl beers.

I'm drinking one now, really incredible brew. It's a little hot but I prefer it that way, love when the bourbon isn't subtle. Only downside is the price, northcoast beats out stones QM series of 500ml bottles which I already thought was much too pricy.

Tried a sample during lunch today from draft. Straight brown sugar and caramel.

Bought the 2013 today for $23.99. I've never had it before so I was going to drink it fresh. Does 1 year really make that big of a difference? As others have said, it's a legit question, since the price is fairly prohibitive of buying 2.

Yes....put it in the back if your fridge behind a stack of empty bud light cans (or under a box in your cellar) and forget about it until the Winter of 2017. Then treat yourself to something special. You'll be glad you did; the difference is the age adds will blow your mind.

I picked up two of these and stashed them away in the cellar at my parents' house. I don't have the willpower to sit on beer for that long....especially if I have to see it every day.

+1 on letting it sit. It will do magic in the bottle over a few years.

Picked up a bottle today at the 7-Eleven in the Kittery traffic circle for $20.99.
I'm going to drink it tomorrow, and probably will buy some more to cellar.

I don't have any bud light cans in my house lol

Also, I will just have to cave and buy a 2nd one so I can cellar. I need to try it fresh to be able to gauge the differences.

Not that I'm likely to buy another bottle, but what's your opinion of the brandy version in the cellar?

For Chicagoans looking for the 2013, Binny's Lakeview (Clark & Wellington) has about a case of it on the shelf right now. I don't remember the exact price, but it was in the $20-22 range.
