Schlenkerla Urbock does that for me, so I can definitely relate.

St. Pauli Girl takes me back to the days when that was premium beer....back when the women were finer, I was younger, and some good friends were still here.

Pilsner Urquell, it is what I cut my eye teeth on in the beer world. I am on a constant search for a great American Pilsner... but nothing hits it quite the same.

Edit: Heh, actually sipping on a SN Nooner Pilsner as I write this.

Try Lags Pils? I like it a lot. One of the better pilsners I've had.

I like your choice of Hoptimum, I'm gonna go with Pliny, I love the way that beer taste and I make a trip to the brewery every other month.

FBS. After seven months on tour, I came home and plunked down on the couch with a bottle and sipped as it warmed. Didn't have to go chasing delivery trucks to get it; just grabbed it from the shelf, brought it home, and enjoyed every last drop. Absolutely divine.

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, it reminds about that first beer I had that made me look at glass and say, ah.

    Hitting home:

I was born in and lived in Austria twice...Gosser Dark hits home.
I lived in CT so anything I got from NEBCO hit home.
I lived in Australia so...no brews direct from OZ available where I live so I got to go with Miller Fosters. It hits home at the local Outback on draught.
I lived in CA so beer from Sierra Nevada hit home best for me, with Anchor right behind.
I live in WY now and I am amazed at what some of the beer brewed here does for my palate..makes my present home a joy to call home.

Edit: I guess I should mention having Budvar in a 1L glass, at a beer garden in Vienna, after the last day of High School.:stuck_out_tongue:

    Most recently, these:

Lived across from Greifenklau for a couple of years, and the tavern was far warmer than our coal-oven-heated apartment, so my roommate and I basically lived here all winter. The house Lager was particularly tasty this last visit.

Then, down the hill, there's Schlenkerla with its Maerzen from the wooden keg...always feels like home.
