So how is this batch of Size 11 drinking? Since no one reviews on this site anymore, does anyone have some descriptors?

I have been enjoying it. From what I can remember, it reminds me of last years batch.

No, A post was started about how good of a deal size 11 was. Read OP's comment. THAT has been exactly what has been discussed.

I would love to see Size 7 in six packs, but I also get where they are coming from. They can't keep up with demand and bars are on waiting lists and liquor stores always sell out. Not only that, but the are running with the smallest crew possible (but did see one new guy this past week). With each person wearing multiple hats and sticking to kegs & bombers on top of the constant flow of growlers and a tasting room always overflowing, they are brewing liquid gold. So where is the motivation to mess with that formula to suddenly increase material costs and drop your margins?

And I am playing devil's advocate, because I know that there are very obvious reasons to do so, but until somebody is ready to make that massive reinvestment into expansion and brand building, it feels pretty good running a business into the black so quickly.

To tell the truth I never bought a Steel Toe bomber for personal consumption. I have bought them to give to someone that has never tried them and felt the need to spread the love. I buy growlers and their 750mls at the taproom. I was planning on going on Saturday and getting some growler fills and 1 or more Size 11s depending on impressions. Thanks @nograz for your thoughts.

Im pretty sure Steel Toe has taken a stance much like Hill Farmstead (not saying Steel Toe is HF), but I think Jason has mentioned before he wants to hit a certain production and stay there. I can't fault a guy for wanting to still do what he loves on a comfortable and manageable scale. Much like I respect Rob from Dangerous Man for sticking to his taproom only approach

The last three versions/releases have all tasted different. This latest version is not good. Very floral taste like hair spray.

LET ME GOOGLE THAT FOR YOU. There is a review portion of this site, and a forum portion of this site. Reviews of this beer can quite easily be found by looking at the reviews of this beer.

I've never seen steel toe in faribault, i assume haskell's is where you're thinking? We had talked about eating at the gran plaza maybe i'll check if we do. I would drink much more size seven if i could get that close.

Obviously the reason I asked for impressions and the point I was making is lost on you. Have a good weekend.

The spring 2013 batch was a drain pour. Heard good things about last years though. What's with the inconsistency?

With it not being a regular beer, it can be harder to dial in the recipe compared to a beer you brew all the time. Just look at the variations with beers like Darkness or Dark Lord year to year. There are many variables, maybe they tried to tweak it that year. The other big factor is the hops, harvests from year to year are not the same and can play a big role in the taste.

There have been for reviews (not ratings, reviews) of this beer in the last 12 months. 2 from last January, 1 from April, and a one liner from a couple days ago. If you're looking for a review of the latest batch, not a rating, I'd say BA doesn't have much there.

Sticker Fight was easily one of the best new beers brewed in 2014 if you ask me. Amazing and glad I got to try it. Their Wee Heavy is spectacular too, as is a Size 7. Love everything I've had from Steel Toe.

So how much of that opinion is based on how long you hunted around the cities looking for it?

Drinking now and after looking at my reviews from years past, this is similar to the 2014. The citrus qualities do not seem to be as strong, and the melon is all but gone. Much more floral and medicinal. Glad I only bought 2 bottles.
