Obviously want to drink it, but I'm willing to cellar it if there's enough potential improvement. Looking for thoughts from anyone who has had it fresh or cellared. I actually may be able to pick up another bottle tomorrow, which may make the choice easier!

Option #3: Send it to me. Either option is good, but I would drink it - no need to let it mellow like some high abv beers.

First time you have a beer, drink it. Then if you get additional, then cellar to experiment.

    I enjoyed it fresh.

This, exactly... how will you know if it's better? Take good notes .

    EDIT:
    Even more reason .

Drink one and buy another to cellar. IMHO, Sucaba tastes its best at around 6 months to 1 year.

Always drink a beer fresh the first time if it is an option.

Drink it. Unless I have multiples, I always try to drink beers I haven't had before fresh.

My opinion in just about any situation like this is that you should drink it now. Cellar if you can get more than one. I'd like to know what a beer tastes like fresh before I decide to cellar it.

Thanks for the great responses. I have enough cellared; several types of Bourbon County, KBS, Abyss, Central Waters, Expedition, Narwhal, Backwoods, Ten Fidy, etc., so I was hoping to drink the Sucaba. If I get lucky enough to get another bottle or two, I'll cellar them for a while.

If you haven't had it before and you only have one (of any bottle), drink it now! God forbid, but -- if one were hit by a truck tomorrow -- there's no prize for dying with the most amazing cellar. Just sayin' ...

I was lucky to get 3 bottles last year, drank 1 by myself, split one with some friends, and cellared the last one. Also was lucky to find it on tap.

This year, being that I live in China, not so lucky, so hopefully last years will be just as good this summer. But damn I miss good BA'd beers over here (especially Sucaba)

Drink it. If jesus had wanted us to cellar all hard to get beers, he wouldn't have given us greedy little mouths.
