I doubt they'd release a 6-ish month old beer at that point, but who knows. Definitely wishful thinking!

Anyone hear anything about the release at the brewery, trying to find out if they are doing a ticketed release again, so I can plan a birthday trip

Does anyone know if the brewery is going to be selling it as well on 3-15? Because that'd be kickass to go to KBS Day, stay in GR overnight, then just walk into the brewery Sunday and grab some Blushing Monk =D

I suspect the "3/15" in the thread title denotes March of 2015, not necessarily the 15th of March.

I know everybody is hoping that CBS will be the next release. I think it would be hilarious/awesome if they said there was no upcoming Backstage beer and then just randomly released CBS everywhere unannounced. :grimacing:

The brewery will be selling it the week before March 2, and it will hit shelves everywhere else beginning on March 2 (per the OP).

Drf, can't believe I didn't see that. Damn, February-March will be expensive between Blushing Monk, KBS, Wood Master, and Freedom of 78 =D

Looks like March 2nd for the release date-didn't say anything about a ticketed release. Hope that means they made a lot of it to go around.

They haven't done ticketed releases of Backstage for a while now. Heck they still have Dissenter in the cooler. They must be making a lot more now and don't need to.

I am a bit surprised Founders is not doing a ticketed release for this one. I understand the last handful of Backstage Series have been general release but I anticipate a much higher demand for BM. We can all hope that means there will be a lot to go around...

    Cheers!

Yeah, I think the lack of ticketed releases recently was more an acknowledgment of the fact that demand was never going to be that high for the last 3 Backstage beers. The last one they did a ticketed release for was Sweet Repute, which was also that last one that was at all difficult to find.

I know this is a BM thread and I am super excited to have it again and drink it side-by-side with the last release this summer (I personally just love drinking this beer in the summer).

That being said, stop with the Dissenter hate, it was a damn good IPL and I really enjoyed it, nad most people did (it is pretty highly rated and made "best of" 2014 new beer list). I know it isn't a whalebro, but no where in the Backstage Series rules did it say every release has to be CBS or BM.

    Sweet Repute was ticketed?

I seem to recall it being available in the taproom - limit 4 - for at least a month but I could be off?

Was a post deleted because I didn't see any Dissenter hate, just facts? It was a good beer that was very highly priced and demand was much below supply at that price point.

On to Blushing Monk, I hope they made a lot!

Sweet Repute and MM right before it were definitely ticketed (link1, link2), but I don't think the tickets actually sold out like they do with KBS, or at least not quickly.

    Nice pull!

Wow, don't recall that at all - probably because was not interested in MM and was not in town for the Sweet Repute taproom release.

All 3 2014 Backstage beers were unticketed, and easy to get. They were also all "coincidentally" the lowest demanded BS beers due to their controversial nature. Smoked Porter wasn't anything to brag about and quite boring for a series that brought us Sweet Repute, Mango Magnifico, CBS, etc. Dissenter was universally panned for being way to expensive (shit should have been 4 packs for $12, or $8/750ml, not $13/750ml). Big Lushious is a great dessert beer, but has also been deemed way to expensive for what it is (and is consequentially still on shelves everywhere). I think Founders needs to start expanding past the idea of only doing BS beers in 750s (I'd even say just drop them all together and do 4pks hehe).

Oh, and I know there's no "rule" that every BS beer needs to be boundary pushing, but it's something that's expected, since that's sort of the whole point of the series to begin with as said in the mission statement.

They just posted no tickets, taproom release 2/27/2015 first come first serve, with bottle limits with TBD number.
