    Well hey y'all!
Good to see some new folks in here and some old friends too.
For those of you wondering where the fish are they have moved to a proper stand off my desk but right next door since I need my (extra second desk) for more homework!
It was finally a nice day here in Alabama but I didn't actually make it outside.

So how about the beer? Well I decided to have a pretty nice lil tripel from Chimay. It put me forcibly in mind of sucking on a peach pit in a field of white clover. Cheers!

    New Oatmeal Stout Sunday

Greetings from the Glass City, where I've been having a lazy Sunday, watching some football, and enjoying all the great posts on this thread. Oh, and sipping on this beauty (courtesy of the man himself, @BeerMeBro720):

BA Dark Star oatmeal stout from Fremont Brewing in Seattle (bonus: I think this is my first beer from Washington state).

Top-notch stuff right here. Big aromas of cocoa, boozy vanilla, tobacco, and straight alcohol. Taste is rich chocolate, caramelized molasses, vanilla, and lots of bourbon. Mouthfeel is just incredible: thick and syrupy but somehow still on the lighter (i.e., highly crushable) side.

In other words, one of the best BA stouts I've had. I'm putting this next to BCBS and BA Dark Apparition, and only slightly behind Parabola, on my list of favorite beers in this style.

And of course I've got #propermusicalaccompaniment for this beer: .
Don't miss that jam after the 13:00 mark!

    Cheers,
    Mike

    New Belgian Pale Ale Sunday

Here's my 3rd new beer of the day, Bell's Mercury: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/126808/?ba=bluejacket74

I'm not even going to bother posting the pics from this one right now, maybe I'll put them on the WBAYDN thread later. By no means was this a horrible beer, but it was just pretty meh. Glad I got a single, cause it's a one and done for me. Hope my next new beer will be better!

I have to concur with the comments of @RJLarse - where's the freakin' defibrilator?

    What.
    A.
    Game.

I watched it at a local tavern with some friends where I stuffed myself with chilidogs and cheaped out with a couple bottles of Rainier (last Sunday night I suffered the loss of a filling & had my wallet drained for it on Wednesday, so nothing fancy for me until payday, and I wasn't about to have a PBR or anything else brewed in Wisconsin, so I went with something cheap that used to be a Seattle beer). The 'hawks have a penchant for making the end of the NFC championship game a dramatic one. Last year's game was much the same, this one at least didn't feature a dog taking a dump on my lap, so I have that going for me!

As I said earlier, I was going to drink this win or lose after the game:
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29335/154768/?ba=woemad
Man, am I glad it was a win!
Yummy beer, a little too sweet to give it a really high score, but very glad I got to drink it. For something that was a barleywine/old ale when it went into the bourbon barrels, it seemed to me like a Belgian Quad that was made with a non-Belgian yeast. Smoky, sweet, boozy and with a little bit of raisiny dark fruit bitterness.

    Happy NBS!!!

    First new beer:

Prairie Christmas Bomb! on tap at whole foods. This really helps on a cold, icy, wet day like today.

    Next round:

Some 20 day old Nugget Nectar. I think Adam Scott wants a taste :stuck_out_tongue:

    Third new beer (kind of):

Boulevard Beer Co. Harvest Dancer. This is my wonderful girlfriend's new beer this Sunday that I was able to try. Next step is getting her to make a profile and post her own NBS!

    Final new brew:

Another Boulevard Brew Co. beer! It's their Bourbon Barrel Quad. I am enjoying the crap out of this one while watching Parks and Rec with my better half. I wish everyone a wonderful rest of their nights! Cheers!!

Glad you are enjoying the beers, I would drink Deathtripper soon, I really don't know how well Tired Hands IPAs hold up two or three weeks after they are tapped since most barely last a week on tap.

    Lots of new ones today.

First stop: 21st Amendment. Had a flight of 5: 4 from 21st (Brew Free Or Die IPA, Tripp's Hop Adventure, Kilt By Wildfire, Back In Black), and Drake's Black Robusto Porter. I would have the first and last one again.

Then over to Cellarmaker for a quick taste of Bourbon Barrel Vastness Of Space, a serious stout. Very nice, black as a starless night, great aroma, good stout taste without being overwhelmed by the bourbon. Nice touch of astringency on the finish. Expensive, but worth it.

Picked this up yesterday while in my local bottleshop. I've been anxious to try it after seeing it on one of the WBAYDN threads a couple of days ago.

I wasn't quite ready to throw in the towel, but I was really wishing Wilson could have found a better day to have such a bad game up to that point. Amazing how quickly it can turn around.

One more new brew tonight :grinning:.....

A 2014 Bigfoot. Found two 4pks of this last week and was glad to grab them both at $9.99 each.

A: Pours a hazy deep red color with a light head that dissipates slowly.

S: The aroma is that of sweet caramel and fresh hops.

T: An exceptionally smooth and tasty example of a barleywine, it's bitter and hoppy upfront then subsides to a sweet toffee caramel finish. Complex, but well balanced and delicious.

F: Medium body and pleasant carbonation lead to an enjoyable mouthfeel.

O: A fantastic example of a barleywine with a touch of that signature SN hoppyness. Very glad to have found a few four packs of this, it's extremely enjoyable and certainly worthy of a spot in the fridge.

    Cheers, and GO PATS!!!

Good evening all. Sorry so late to the party but today has been wicked busy. Nice to see all the great BIF beers getting popped and enjoyed!

So got myself Moving Parts 02 from Victory. Since I had 01, and I'm a touch OCD, I'm pretty sure I'll have to see every edition through. Hoefully they continue to be "ok" or better - as this one! (OK)

Poured a hazy copper with decent off white lacing after the half inch head went away. First whiff produced something a little soapy and then a touch of that floral bit that the label alluded to. Tastes fairly ok with upfront gentle bitterness and then there's floral again! Sweet on the finish before the bitterness walks us out. Sorta smooth on the tongue, touch of creamy, tad bit oily after all is said and done. Overall, it's pretty close to what I'd expect from an English IPA, than again I don't get them enough to be an expert.

After a long hectic day, I have to break away from metal for just a bit.

Stick in there. She needs you. It's a good person who can "truly care" for somebody recovering from a major procedure.
