Hi all, just curious if anyone has heard anything about a date for next year? I figure it will fall on Feb. 21st (same weekend as last year), but wondering if anyone knew for sure. It seems they typically announce in mid-September but I haven't seen anything yet. Thanks!

Weather was too nice this year so they are still looking at the Farmers Almanac for a better chance at Mudfest like two years ago!

I wouldn't hate it... once I had sampled enough to become numb to the cold and the rain, that Mudfest ended up being a great time!

I went in 2013, didn't go last year and probably not going this year. Just too many beer events to juggle these days.

I will say, I do love this part on the website...."As usual, we'll be announcing the beer list as we confirm each one in the coming months (we select/buy all beer, so this sort of thing takes time)."

Coming months, eh?...well considering the event is NEXT MONTH, I'm not sure how that will work. I don't understand how nothing in terms of beers being tapped, has been posted yet....yet the Community Tap Beer Fest in April in Upstate S.C., already has the first 2 beers posted.

Last year they didn't start posing beers until the middle of January...yet the beer list is always awesome. They have a good enough reputation that no one with a ticket is concerned.

It will sell out even if they don't release the beer list til the day of. I'm sure its been in the works for a while. I don't think many people are worried about a shitty tap list.

Brewvival has delivered on great beers year in and year out. Last year there were some great ones, as there were in years prior. I anticipate great ones again this year.

Went last year. Back this year. This is the best beer fest in the region IMO. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being incredibly worried about the beer list, I'm at a -2. You have to have a ticket to complain about the beer list BTW. Looking forward to Edmunds Oast the night before as well. Can't wait to see what they've hoarded away over the last year.

That's an absurd statement. You don't have to pay the ever rising price for a Brewvival ticket, just to have an opinion on the current state of affairs, concerning the beer list. My statement was basically saying, in the past, well at least 2013, there was a lot of work put into the beer list, months ahead of time, so folks could see what was to come at the fest. Now, in the last 2 years, it seems less organized in terms of knowledge beforehand....well, with the exception of the price increase. That didn't seem to take too long to plan out and implement.

And I like Brewvival, I think it is a great beer fest, but to pretend at this point that is without flaws, and you should just wave money in the air at the mention of the word Brewvival, is a bit silly IMO. There are WAY more beer events, even in S.C. alone now, so you'd think with the ever increasing competition, they'd want to do everything possible to keep Brewvival the premier beer fest in the state. Instead, it just looks less and less organized each year.

I thought you SC guys were supposed to be big on faith. Have you seen any decline in the quality of the actual event or are you just bitching that the beer list is a week late? And how does that impact you again?

So, they expect for people to buy tickets without letting them know what the beer line-up is. I guess they don't have any issues selling out every year. Besides, by now people know that they always have a killer beer list. But I do understand where @Circleo12 is coming from.

Not sure what you're referencing in the first statement, but again..I said I enjoy the event, I think it is still the premier beer event in our area. With that being said, that doesn't mean you can't say "Hey, we're a month out, and nothing has even been mentioned about this event, in terms of breweries, etc." I'm sure it will sell out, and still be a great event, but that doesn't mean that you can't voice a little displeasure in the fact that now, 2 years in a row, they are down to just under 6 weeks away, and no one knows anything about the details yet.

Folks act like I've insulted their mother, when I point out that not everyone will stand and say "TAKE MY MONEY!!111" regardless of the information given for the event. There was never a problem before 2014, getting event details out to the public, pretty far in advance. Why the breakdown in communication now?

How does it impact me? Well, I guess I'm one of the rarities in the beer community, that want to actually see what I'm spending money on, before handing it over blindly. If they came out today, and said 'suchandsuch Brewery is bringing beers A and B' and those were some of my favorites, well I'd probably have a ticket come tonight. I attend events based on who is going to be there, not because 'beer' is going to be there. Silly me, I know.

So you think that this "premier" event may have a lame lineup of shelf beers? Really? I tend to think that it's absurd that someone without skin in the game (i.e. a ticket) feels like their opinion should actually matter. It reeks of entitlement. Buy a ticket if your expectation is that the organizers owe you a GD thing. You're not a precious *********. Email your complaints to the folks at Coast if you're actually trying to be helpful, which I doubt. Seems like you're upset about the price increase (which they were completely upfront about) and now want to use that as license to air your grievances about the lack of information about the beer list. Which has been remarkable year after year. Your repeated comments about money and the price increase make me think that the real issue is your budget or lack thereof.

You seem angry. I've been trying to do, was voice concerns over planning and information release. I'm not sure why that seems to grind your gears so much. I also don't understand what is so hard to understand about wanting to see what you'll actually be privy to, if you bought a ticket to Brewvival. It's not like I'm waiting to see the list, then say "That sucks" "Try again" "Terrible beer" or some garbage. And as I've said, I've been in the past, thought it was a great event, and have no problem with anything concerning it. I was there for the mudfest in 2013, and enjoyed every minute of it. I don't think the tap list will be anything short of stellar, that doesn't mean I can't wonder what will be there.

Somehow all of those points, turn into a "You mad bro, you need better budgeting, you seem entitled...blah blah blah". Not sure where all the frustration and angst is coming from.

Budget or lack thereof...yeah, that's it. I mean, I fly down to Florida just to drink for a weekend, 3-4 times a year, plus all releases..but yeah, must be because of the lack of a budget. Maybe I prefer to know about an event beforehand?

How dare I actually expect to know what I'm spending money on, amirite?

I asked the Brewvival folks last year "Why the delay in tap information?" just the same way, yet they seemed to be able to handle genuine concern from a potential fest-goer, more than I can say apparently for some BA folks. I'll be sure to let the Brewvival folks know that it has now been deemed true, you cannot ask about the event, unless you buy a ticket first.

If my posts cause too much angst for you, just ignore me. It won't be the last time I share my feelings on something concerning beer in the Southeast.

We have been the past 2yrs, and had a blast, but my wife and haven`t purchased tickets for 2015 yet. My main concern is that with the boom of local breweries the focus of the event is going to turn from a national showcase to a regional event. I hope they can find a nice balance, but last year it felt like it was drifting more local, less national.

The list last year was still phenomenal, but they could have probably squeezed in a few more qualified brewers, and pulled some of the newer local breweries.

It's definitely still the premier beer event in our area, by far. Hopefully it won't rain, that is the only thing that makes things a bit....messy.

I know there were a few breweries that decided to skip last year, but I think that is moreso due to the ever growing number of fests/events/releases that are popping up every month. I can imagine that it gets pretty tough, trying to juggle events/fests that you can send beer to, as a brewer, while still trying to manage your local resources. I asked my wife if she wanted to go (She has never been), but she chose EBF in Boston the next month, instead.
