Check out the info that has been released so far. CCB has made very meaningful changes that should solve most issues from previous years.

    LOL I bet!

I would like to think that i would properly prepare and plan my water and eating between pours.
I have pulled that tap list up three times, and i just dont see any way to narrow down the 40 or so beers i would have to get a sample of.

Honestly i could sit at that Bone Yard tent all day....ugh how can i convince my wife this would be a great anniversary trip?

I anticipate some serious butt hurt and whining from folks who don't get a pour of Mornin Delight

The tap list manages to make last year's look bad.

So far they have announced that the tickets available are down to 2,000 (1,500 Catador members get first crack then as little as 500 available to general public) they have raised prices from $50 admission to $200 (80 of that gets you 4 bottles of Huna). They have said there will be stricter ticket enforcement and will work like a VIP event but food tastings included.

My concerns from last year would be below: (if you know of more information posted to address any/all of these I would love to see where it is posted thanks!)

Are the volunteers going to be more qualified?

Will there be a beer map of what breweries are being staged where? (so that one can actually seek out their desired beers form the tap list)

Did they acquire a larger space? (last year it was impossible to get into the tap room because of capacity I am all for first come first serve but realistically a lot of people had zero chance of getting a beer tapped inside)

Lets not forget they said there were no concerns last year about bottle counts, space and entry wait times. Arrive fashionably late I believe was the post on their facebook page. I waited two hours in line to enter the place and while I didn't get shut out of bottles (because I went straight to the bottle release point) I know many did. I simply missed out on close to 4 hours of the festival and enjoying the great list of beers that were brought in.

I think the festival is definitely going to be better for CCB though. They are selling 1,500 less tickets but found a way to bring in $65,000 in more in ticket revenue over last year while guaranteeing themselves $160,000 in Huna beer revenue whether it is picked up on not.

It is unlikely that it will be anywhere other than the brewery, however they have expanded the space quite a bit, they renovated the north section of the brewery into a whole new space for events. There will also be thousands less people than were present last year (1500 fewer tickets plus who knows how many fewer counterfeit tickets).

It really sounds like they are going above and beyond to fix things. Also they have said on the FB page that they are only bottling enough Hunahpu for the event and the rest will be going into kegs so the value of 2015 Hunahpu just increased dramatically as there are only going to be 8000 bottles.

A lot of this has been discussed in great detail in the other Hunahpu Day thread

We assume this is the case and hopefully the measures they have taken will prove this true but I will point out you did not even need a fake ticket to get into the event last year. I saw multiple people entering and leaving over the little canal area behind the beer trailers. Then saw them walk up to the tasting glass table and get their glass. No ticket needed in that case.

I noticed this same thing too as I also stood in line for 2 hours to get in. It was infuriating to watch happen. A valid concern that I hope they have an answer for with more security or a giant wall with lasers. Asking volunteers to look for a wristband before pouring would seem like the logical answer as well.

I do think I'll give them a second chance if I can actually get a ticket. The list is better than you'll find pretty much anywhere, and the easier method for getting bottles, ID tied tickets, and no camping chairs policy seems like it could fix a lot of the issues from last year.

I also think they need more than 1 point of entry. No reason to bottleneck things like that.

since you seem to be obsessed with the "value" of Huna, it is still a $20 bottle of single-day brewery release beer. why do you keep talking about how it has "increased dramatically?" value to YOU? if that's what you meant, cool, I agree with you.

That is exactly what I mean. If I were to get 8 of them I would be cool trading a few... At 4 I don't hink I would trade any.

I was on the fence about whether I would even TRY to get a ticket...

then I realized I would be using Heady as a palette cleanser. YIKES! Crazy list.

I think these are the top beers at the event, what do you think?

I would agree with Heady and King Sue on the IPA and Mornin Delight on the Stout side. Then try as many as I could and see what I liked best. Wink wink nod nod.

IS the Heady Topper going to be on draft? I have never heard of anyone drinking this from draft. Specially since the whole idea is to drink it from the can. Just wondering if Alchemist will be pouring from cans?

I guess shipping a pallet of cans or a pallet of kegs is the same. Thing. Was just curious.

I don't know the answer to your question about whether Heady Topper will be on tap in March but I do know that The Alchemist kegs at least a limited amount because I've been blessed to have it on tap at Prohibition Pig (the original site of The Alchemist) in Waterbury, VT.
