I can't help but think of Beast Wars.

I'll have to keep an eye out for this.
Been a fan of this brewery ever since a friend left two 6 packs of Resin and a 6 pack of Bengali in my fridge after a party.

this was posted in another forum as well...but I think it should be noted for those who didn't read it:

A quick note about Beast Mode, as some people on here are apparently not familiar with Sixpoint or how Sixpoint has been brewing since 2004:

    1) We don't care about style guidelines - never have; never will. We don't brew to "perfect" a style that has been defined by the BJCP or GABF or any other governing body that dictates what a beer should taste like. We simply take raw materials and formulate a beer according to our tastes, and relate those innovations to our customers through narrative.

    2) BEAST MODE is not intended or designed to be an English Porter, or a Robust Porter, or an American Porter, or a Baltic Porter, or any other defined porter style. Its meant to be (and is) a 2015 next-generation American Craft Porter. Its part brown ale, part porter, part stout, and part IPA.

    3) After doing many formulations, we settled in on this recipe because it had all of the dryness/roastiness of a good porter, without becoming a maple syrup sugar bomb. If you want a sugar/caramel bomb, look somewhere else.

    4) If you want a dark beer in the colder, winter months that has all of the glorious hop character of a good IPA, with the nuttiness of a nice hoppy brown ale, and just enough of that burnt/roastiness of a stout and porter, then this is your beer.

Let your taste buds guide you. Don't let others tell you what beer should taste like.

:slight_frown: wish it had all that minus the hop character

I will get back to you in a few hours and let you know, after my first taste of the "Beast" this evening! Sounds like you have done a similar thing with this new beer (porter / brown ale / ipa fusion), that you did previously with Diesel (stout / black ipa fusion)....and that one was incredibly tasty!

Wow, this could't have been more timely info. @Sixpoint just started distro in AR, and I'm attending a tap takeover tonight. Also, just got a growler fill of Hi-Res. Cheers!

Just landed in Dover today. Drinking my first one and it doesn't disappoint. Toffee and roasted malts of a porter but very effervescent and some bitterness. How about a year round release of this one.

    Cheers!

Jack.........just got some Beast Mode on my way home from my office.....really delicious.....not like a "traditional porter", but more like the brown ale / porter / ipa fusion I mentioned earlier...nice roastiness with great hops character...yum!

My can has "July 2015" on it....so, in answer to your question....6 months is my guess!

    Thanks for that input!

I suspect that as Shane mentioned earlier this beer would be good for an extended time if hop fade is not a personal issue wrt this beer.

    Cheers!

I said it in the WBAYDN thread last night, it tasted like a Durty light, if you're into that sort of thing. Very enjoyable. More like a hoppy brown ale than a porter, but it does say "ale" on the can.

    except that Durty is awesome.

this is not for me. I wrote a full review since I expect to be asked what I didn't like about it.
