Chugging Craft Beer

What's the purpose of this? Pretty stupid if you ask me.

 

I once did a beer bong of World Wide Stout. Kiddin'.. seems like a waste of money.

 

Never bought/opened one with the intention of chugging.

Sometimes however, it's an unfortunate byproduct of trying to squeeze in one too many at the pub/bar, when I have to get somewhere else for dinner / meet wife etc. Never a good idea.

 

Whenever I find something on tap that I really love, and is kind of hard to get for me, I will pretty much chug the first pour, 'just because I can', and then savor the next pours. When you normally just have small quantities of something available to you, which you always slowly enjoy and savor, and suddenly there is a seemingly endless supply in front of you, it's fun to slam one (or three) down. For example the first time I saw Cuvee Des Jacobins on tap a few years ago - pounded 2 in a row, then savored a few more.

I had to chug the only Jai Alai I've ever ordered. I thought I had a little more time at a hotel bar, but the person I was traveling with came back just as the beer arrived and said we had to get to the airport ASAP.

 

i haven't yet. but I'm sure a session IPA (all day, recreation ale, etc) may get shotgunned at a tailgate before its all said and done.

 

There was a rash of chug videos on the iso:ft FB page. There was a guy that turned up a bottle of Dark Lord and chugged it in seconds.

 

Hanging out with some old friends down in Norfolk once. Had ordered a 90 Minute as well, by the time it got to me my friends were really itching to leave. Honestly, I was wanting to continue the crawl as well so yep - guzzled that bad boy. From what I can remember, it wasn't all that troubling, but it was followed up with very much drinking of shots and whiskey based cocktails at other bars, so the 90 Minute chug was in reflection, the least of my worries.

 

I've never done it without there being some other influence causing it. For example, cab shows up way earlier than expected and I have 3/4 of a beer left, someone offers to buy a beer if I chug it (usually a bad idea as they will try and screw you over with a strong one), etc

Ive never been sitting there enjoying a beer and said 'I bet this would be so much better if I drank it all in 5 seconds'. My favorite part of the beer most of the time is the time of sitting there and relaxing.

I chugged two Vanilla Ryes and dumped the other two down the drain.

 

I accidentally slammed a whole Pint of Modern Times Fortunate Islands in two swift pulls.
It was so dayum good, and it was after doing some yard work i literally couldnt stop
gulping it down...

 

No, but I pretty much pooped my pants at work a few years ago after some lunchtime taco bell.

 

Closest it gets is when the remainder in a glass gets a bit too warm and needs to be finished ASAP.

I just chugged a Victory Hop Ranch the other day because I thought I was suppose to meet my friend at the bar before dinner, but she was already at the restaurant with a table.

 

Now thats real life
