Didn't really chug on purpose, but I was at a friends house for an all day gathering a couple years ago. Things started slowly, then he mentioned he was going to propose to his girlfriend that night, then he did it, and then asked me to be in the wedding party. Rate of consumption steadily increased through the night. Lots of Short's, Sam Adams, and Bells were destroyed that night.
At his wedding, we were slamming Fat Tire when they announced last call.
I guess I'm an emotional chugger.

As Shane and I were talking about a little, the dude has vids chugging a 750ml of 160 proof vodka(?), and 190 proof Everclear. He has got to have an ulcer or few.

No chugging here, really, but I must confess (and I've said this before), anything in a weizen glass goes down really fast - like it just slides down so easily - I'll finish it quick, but it wasn't chugging per se...

Basically if you tip it back and continuously drink it til it's gone without having to lower it, I consider it chugging

I just died on the inside watching this, what a crazy waste of a beer I would love to try just 2 oz of...

ITT: people that don't realize these guys on YouTube are trolling them.

I find some of these videos hilarious. They are simply poking at the beer snobs that get incredibly offended by it. Personally, I would never do this although thoughts of crushing a glass of New Glarus Belgian Red on a hot summer day has occurred to me.

I drink beer. I chug beer. I shotgun beer. I don't like most anything by AB or MC. So all I drink really is smaller breweries. I think having to call good beer craft beer is lame. Just drink beer. Don't judge people if they want to chug it. Have some fun

I'm not against chugging beer for fun's sake--provided the style and situation is appropriate for it--but most of the time I'm too busy savoring it to even considering chugging.

In college and a bit after I felt the need to chug, but these days I stick to Imperial and Russian stouts. Those are meant to be sipped.

I generally sip my beers pretty slowly – I'll happily spend 45 minutes sipping & savoring a 4-6oz pour of a big barrel-aged stout – but somehow, I can't make a Guinness draft last longer than 4 seconds. Two gulps and that pint is dry. I dunno, maybe I was an Irishman in a past life, but Guinness is just so light & delicious and goes down so smoothly...jeez, I could go for one now.

I can shotgun a Miller Lite or Coors Light like a champ (as long as it's been left out for a while, shotgunning an ice-cold beer is just painful).

Completely agree. These guys are very funny. People who can't see that are the ones they are mocking and have the real problem with craft beer. For F's sake it's just beer and that's what these guys are trying to shed some light on.

I watched all of their videos yesterday. There's a reason Perennial gave them two bottles of BA Abraxas, and a reason that some random guy from Dark Horse slams an Opperman BBpt5 with them, it's just beer. Many people on this site have lost sight of that.

LOL. I can't think of the last time I "chugged" a beer, craft or not. :astonished:

I don't need an invite, boys; I've worked hard every day since I was roughly sixteen to try and bring respectability to an industry that used to be shunned in a battle between beer, wine, and cocktails. I'll be damned if I am going to laugh and support the abuse or neglect of an industry that I've put my heart and soul into. You can all get the likes on the internet by being snarky, but what were you doing ten years ago that eventually created that boom in 2011? Yesterday around 10:00pm I served a cheese plate paired with a palate cleanser and three alternate brews that would help accent each part of the board. Around 11:00pm I had the couple approach me and say that they had no idea that beer could pair so well with such dishes. They thought that territory was reserved for wine. They're coming back and they trust me. That's what I bring to the table. Ask yourself what you bring.

I have never done it. I think it would be an expensive waste.

I watched a woman chug a Westbrook Coconut Almond Stout. Her words after were, "that wasn't as good as I hoped it would be".

What she said is true. Even though I get your point. How can you really taste or enjoy anything, when you chug it?
