Wife and I couldn't taste coconut. BA Funky Lomaland was delicious. The Brett Rye beer was latex.

This thread is as good as any to give a shout-out to @ModernTimesJacob for the killer vibe he's created @ the Lomaland Fermentorium. Spent last weekend moseying around no shortage of tasting rooms in the area -- gotta say MT's vibe might've been the best we encountered. Also hats off on the coffee -- Black House blend on tap was excellent, and the rum barrel aged beans smelled divine and made a mean brew once home. As for the beer, was bummed to not find City of the Sun on tap (nor any casks, sadly), but Devil's Teeth was a nice one, and Funky Lomaland was pretty solid too (though I'd love to see it even funkier). Anyway, keep doin' what you're doin'!

City of the sun bottles are all over the place. Not as good as the draft but still a top 10 Bottled IPA in my opinion.

City of the Dead should be interesting, I think the FB post said Feb. release...

I really like their space the most. They succeeded in making an industrial work place into a relaxing and creative space. It's probably the only brewery I've been to that has Fela Kuti as part of the soundtrack, which is a nice departure from the norm. I look forward to coming back and hearing more funk while drinking funky beers.

Oh and they should have kegged more City of the Sun.

Just make sure you're rocking a sensitive cardigan, and you'll be all good.

As for City of the Sun, dude, they were all out when I was there. :slight_frown:

Thanks! Glad to hear you're digging our vibe. My goal was to create a space that was a totally distinctive expression of what Modern Times is all about, so it's gratifying to hear that we nailed it. And stoked to hear you're enjoying our coffee, too. Can't wait until our new 15-kilo roaster arrives from The Netherlands; it's going to take our coffee to a whole new level. Black House Blend is now on-tap at both Snooze locations, btw.

City of the Sun is back on tap at both tasting rooms, a fresh batch was kegged off yesterday. We had planned to do more draft on the first go around, but the yield was lower than anticipated due to the massive dry hop load. Anyway, get it while you can: bottles are all sold-out both at the brewery & at our distributor, so what's on the shelf is all there will be until we launch cans in December.

Casks are usually tapped on Wednesdays and sometimes go quick.

As for the cold, we recently made some adjustments to our heater that has massively helped with the temperature situation. So if you haven't visited in a while, give it another try and sit at the bar by the post-it mosaic. It's like sitting under a giant hair dryer.

    Cheers & thanks,

Modern Times keeps pumping out amazing beers, and @ModernTimesJacob is setting a great example with how breweries should interact with their fans. I'm happy to continue giving you guys money.

At Modem Tones right now and I can confirm that there is more City of the Sun on tap and Fela Kuti is blasting through the sound system

@ModernTimesJacob, this city of the dead is yet another wonderful creation. The slight bourbon nose followed by the heavy coffee works very well together.

The coconut version at the anniversary party was so incredible. I hope the carbonation and amount of coconut is the same (or better?)...oh and that the limit is going to be >2

Also relevant: extremely expensive new small batch carbonation/dosing tank.
