I'd assume that if that I can find it in CT, it must be on shelves in MA as well by now.

Eh, imo Larry has a more hop flavor and bitterness (especially bitterness, BBC wussed out on that with RR imo) to it, or at least just enough to make the difference in deciding between the two.

I'll be the first to admit that I have never really enjoyed a beer from Sam Adams. They always tasted the same. That being said, I went into Rebel Rouser anticipating a beer to review, yet expecting the same disappointment from their session and single IPA offering. Then something strange happened. I took the first sip and I said to myself: IPA Hunter®, this is some gourmet shit. No lie, Sam finally got it right. Not the best DIPA in the world, but certainly worth trying. It's great to bash the "tallest pygmy," but what happens when they finally deliver? I, for one, love being wrong when it comes to beers. Seek this shit out, and enjoy it. Cheers.

Got a 6 pack tonight. Seems like Sam brewers opened the instruction book on how to make a west coast DIPA and nailed it. Very good! Finally made a true hoppy beer. Rebel was training wheels for BMC drinkers. We'll see how Rouser is accepted. IMO its true to style in a very good way. Reminds me of first time I had Torpedo or GFWC IPA!

Unless i get a chance to try it for free...a draft sample, tasting, friends house....i wont try it. Why? Because when you continuously deliver underwhelming beers...you dont deserve the benefit of the doubt

I thought it was quite good. But apparently lately if it says Sam Adams on it it's automatically not good. I rarely drink their beer but I was happy with it. That's all that matters to me when it comes to beer.

Drinking it tonight actually and as expected it falls somewhere in the C-B range for me. I guess Ill be generous and give it a C+. Nothing terrible about it just that it doesnt seem close to the really good DIPA's. I thought their new session IPA was better (based on the style.) I think its main strength lies in that you can get it in a 6 pack when lots of breweries put their DIPA's in 4 packs.

On a blind tasting front, is this a 88 BA score type of beer? That would run unusually high for the bigger breweries out there. We hear that we have biases against the bigger guys, but has it ever been shown? I've guessed, and liked local unknowns vs. the bigger boys on taste and overall presentation/experience many times. It leads me to wanting to try everything.. Here though, I couldn't see myself dropping $8 for the sixer. I can get some locals for nearly that price. They've definitely lost my confidence a bit... And even more sadly, give this thread/beer another month and itll still be available in store, and it'll have lost its luster a bit. We pretty much are forced to buy NEW styles/ current new seasonals at their peak if they have an ounce of hops in them. Good for the brewery.. Bad for the consumers to try and wait it out

$10 that can be spent on a LOCAL IPA six pack. If a million people said, its only $10, these guys would be pushing profits into the trillions. I like people taking a step of caution. But at the same time, if its blindly, a good product, and it happens to be at every grocery store around, More power to them. I dont wish failure on anyone. They just need to perform

I look forward to trying it. Thanks for the tip.

There have been plenty of great Sam Adams brews, so I am certain they can produce more good ones.

88 would be B+ and no to me this is B or B- at best.

I also thought it was an excellent beer. People need to stop being snobby and trashing on beers just because they weren't produced in a hand made batch by a local two man brewery. If you have truly have given Sam Adams a shot and disliked their beers that is fine, but if you are just jumping on the bandwagon of hating big breweries I dont respect your opinion.

I won't lie, if I see this I will buy. Am I expecting the best Imperial India Pale Ale that I have ever had? Nope, but I will still buy this to try it anyway. Unlike the majority of folks here, I am NOT a Sam Adams hater.
