It'll be out in November. Released on Black Friday. Limited quantities. You're going to have to wait in line for it some people will think it was worth it others will say it wasn't worth it. I don't know why you waited in line for it, it'll be on tap everywhere next year. Etc. Etc.

I'll take any CBS someone turns down. Still one of the best brews ever made.

Beat me to it, OP. Also...

Given that Chicago has completely lost their mind about beer releases, at this point I'd assume there will be a complete meltdown if/when that comes out. BCBS "CBS" will be out of control.

I don't think that's what this is, because they don't align the BCS stuff with the Cthulhu lineup (basically, Cthulhu = GI Clybourn, BCS = GI Fulton/InBev if I'm not mistaken). Although Clybourn could certainly do a Matulhu offshoot at this point, now that they're clearly bringing maple barrels into Chicago...

I delete that post almost immediately after making it. I hadn't seen the BCS hashtag in the tweet pic. Didn't look like enough maple barrels to make a bottle-able amount of BCBS. There was another pic I saw this morning of the barrel warehouse with a few barrels up front that said Maple. If every barrel pictured was maple, then it could certainly be possible. Otherwise, maybe its just a variant not to be bottled. That would be awesome, because I'm about done with the yearly BCBS hunt.

So I did a bit of research on this:

Barrels are coming from a distiller in Ohio called Tom's Foolery. They just got done making a bourbon that they aged for five months in bourbon barrels that housed maple syrup (I bet these came from Bissell Farms in Ohio). This means that they are technically fourth use barrels (bourbon/maple syrup/bourbon/BCS).

If you go to Tom's Foolery's Facebook Page, there most recent post explains the process the barrels went through (barrel #51 is in the photo, #53 is in the GI post).

If this is correct, I'd imagine the maple flavor will be much less than CBS (which is third use: bourbon/maple syrup/base beer).

So excited for BCBCBS. Any chance they release a bunch of kegs ala baudonia? That was readily available for a while around chicago and the burbs. Great way for the most people to get a taste.

They'd haveta skip bottling this and only do kegs.
If bottles of this were released the dork vs. hipster vs. yuppie shopping battle would destroy the entire city.

I'd be happy to see this as a draft only. Make it so goose!

I'd be fine with a draft-only ala Baudoinia, as long as they give us lots of access to it. Bottling chasing for BCBS does get a little draining.

Marshall Law from Tekken? Or do you mean Martial Law?

Read this as gentle sarcasm please, I just like Tekken references.

Most of the Goose Innovation projects are draft only releases around Chicago. I'd find it hard to believe the use of 'Innovation' was coincidence in the tweet. My guess is a Baudonia-like release...draft only at events and favored GI accounts.

I was hoping this would be more along the lines of Good Morning or Morning Delight, with maple added into the stout or coffee stout at some point during barrel aging, only time will tell...

I think beer nerds are reading too much into this. Granted, it does appear GI is aging BCS in Maple Bourbon barrels, BUT, this will most likely NOT be a new BCS variant coming out on Black Friday, but more likely a limited release for the Fulton & Wood keg series or something. It would take an extremely massive amount of Maple Bourbon barrels to produce enough of this to bottle even a Proprietor's batch for 2015. Maple Bourbon barrels are pretty hard to come by.
